11 "Normal" food days left before 3 Week Pre-Op Diet

Recommended Posts

Ok folks - I found out my surgery date in Thursday. I'm thrilled, Dec. 17th come on.

However it is Saturday an I realize I have 11 days till pre op liquid (2) meals with Protein dinner for 3 weeks which starts on Thanksgiving. Which I thankful to have a date.

Here's my dilemma .... I find myself feeling guilty for eating and thinking of what I want to have prior vs starting now.

Keep in mind my surgeon has specifically told me NOT TO DIET until pre op time.

Am I overthinking or going insane?

Please discuss .... Talk amongst yourselves .....

Those of you who get the reference will know how old I am.

????????

I'm not sure if by "not dieting" your doctor means not decreasing calories heavily, but you could certainly start eating toward a healthier lifestyle...higher Protein + lower fat + lower carbs.

Congratulations on your sleeve date!

Oh trust me it is clearly not my intention to pack on pounds. Today I feel guilty of everything I put in my mouth such as roasted turkey with no skin. I realize I'm in a slight panic mode since everything is moving I'm sure I'm overwhelmed.

Thanks for your input. Most appreciated.

Meh, don't feel toooooo bad, but don't overdo it either. I've had a few food funerals myself, as my surgery is Dec. 18th. Just remember that it's important to address any issues that may or may not be food addictions before you have the surgery. There are a lot of people on here that haven't done that and they'll never be successful because they can't get out of their own way. And PS - SNL is just not the same anymore...

Thanks for your kind words and input. food has always been a celebration in my family As we are out to Breakfast they are deciding where to go for dinner. I also admit I like the taste. I'm an emotional eater and I have a lot of emotions.

I have been successful in the past with weight loss but now things are at a health risk and drastic times take drastic measures.

I'm ready but full of crazy thoughts. It could be that I haven't told anyone other than my mother whom is helping me self pay.

SNL ~ ahhhh the old days. I miss them so but it could be that my roots are from Chi~town????

I'm with you 100% ...... How long have you been going thru this process waiting for surgery?

My primary and I spoke about it about 3 months ago and I hopped on it and got the ball rolling. First surgeon visit was end of October so I'm blessed that it's moved quickly however, I'm totally overwhelmed at times. Fine others. ????

Hi ladies!

I am about to start my liquid diet 2moro and have a surgery date of dec 1st. Nervous, excited and a little scared. I know I need this although I have a lower bmi I just have battled with my weight for five years and I can see it's only going up not down.

I have only recently found this forum and am in Australia so it's great to read and join in on other people's journeys.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
