FINALLY! I have found not one but TWO things I **HATE** about my sleeve.

Recommended Posts

@@LipstickLady I appreciated your colorful, creative and restrained word choice with "the milk and muffin 'revisited'".

I am in the south, Florida, and am just about 4 months post-op now and I'm noticing the cold factor here. I used to keep my air conditioning on supercold (68 degrees maybe in-home) year-round but since the surgery I'm noticing I get cold on the couch or in bed even though I'm now keeping the air closer to 74 or 75. Lately fall weather has finally caught up with us down here and we are having cool breezy afternoons and I'm thinking its time to buy a coat because brrrrr.

I always thought I preferred cold over hot, too. But this is BONE CHILLING cold. All the time.

I still prefer thin over fat, though, so...

I was the same way....thought cold would be so much better then feeling sweltering heat all the time.. Well not so..2 years out and looking for wool everything. It is so scary to see winter showing its ugly face in our country...Since hibernation is not an option. I must look like I gained 30 lbs every time I leave the warmth of my bed......With the layers of clothing. :)

Yeah, since I'm always cold pre-op, I'm sure it's not going to get better post-op and I live in MN.... Maybe I need to move somewhere that's warmer! :)

Love my heating pads. Have several in different places in the house to use. And electric blanket to heat the bed before I get in. Not too cold once I get warm.

What's with my feet being so cold? I used a hair dryer the other day because my toes were icy and couldn't warm up. Worked well.

And I'm in California. Now I understand those people who go to Arizona for the cold months. Sorry to those who truly have to brave the elements.

ICE. COLD. ALWAYS. I sometimes go into the bathroom at work just to stand by the hand dryer for a while. Wool is the greatest stuff EVER. Everything should be made of wool! And all base layers should be poly or silk - those cotton thermals just don't cut it.

My fingers and toes have developed this weirdness called Raynaud's phenomenon- I usually can't feel most of my fingertips and they are bone white from the last knuckle to my fingertips. Sometimes they turn blue, and sometimes red. They're very patriotic!

I have to touch people's face in my job as an eye doctor. I've been apologizing for the icy hands when they jump away from me in shock. Sometimes I mention that my father is half vampire. Not everyone gets the reference. :)

While I never enjoyed being hot and sticky from sweat just thinking about walking to the other room, now, 100+ lbs smaller, AND it's winter time, I am so cold all the time! Shiver down to my bones. There was a brief moment in my weight loss some point in the summer where I had found a neutral temperature. It was really nice. :/ now I'm just always cold. But the bright side to that is that I have much more motivation to finish making any one of my throw blanket projects that I started.

I cannot get through winters without a electric blanket!!!

And yes, this is because of weight loss...no longer have that whale blubber as insulation.

I too found that I am freezing all the time. I've only dropped 40lbs so far but damn I'm cold all the time. I'm so not looking forward to the colder weather.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
