I'm doing LCHF. I credit eating coconut oil fat bombs right before bed with breaking my stall.

You mean you ate coconut oil straight up...right out the jar??? ???? what's that like????

Coconut oil is EVERYTHING make sure you get organic virgin cold pressed. I use it for my skin, teeth, hair and cook with it. Sometimes I'll toss a bit into a smoothie.

Since I began my 6 month pre-op diet and had surgery on Sept 8, I've been eating Paleo. Basically, it is eating like a caveman or "clean eating". No processed stuff. My skin is amazing, hair has improved, energy is amazing and I feel great! Google it! This way of eating can reverse soooooo many health issues. It is amazing to see the difference between how your body reacts to clean eating vs processed foods. You won't regret it! There are so many recipes out there too.

I read a lot of studies... in a rat study I read studying the long term effects of VSG, the rats fed LCHF had the greatest energy intake and the highest body mass compared to the LC LF and the LCMF rats... both of whom had no significant difference in their body mass.

So no LCHF for me after this, I think. LCMF should be sufficient to induce ketosis, and then I have plenty of my *own* fat to break down for the remainder...

The biggest issue is to not go so low in fat that you eat more Protein than your body needs, because Protein is broken down into the various amino acids - and about 18 of those can be used to build glucose on, thereby throwing you out of ketosis... But given how little we can eat after sleeve anyway, I'm not worried about getting 'too much' protein after surgery, and I'm working on getting half my body weight in grams of protein for the two weeks leading up to it, to speed up healing.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
