I think that is so hot! :clap2: I'm going to see about getting myself a Benny Hinn costume. Got to find me a dead squirrel for a hair piece first.

OMG! This made me LOL in real time! I'm very pleased I'm sitting at home alone instead of hubby seeing me laugh when he didn't say anything.

That would just be weird.

Hey, Australian 60 minutes did a big expose on Benny Hinn a couple of years ago. He had the chutzpah to tell some parents of terminally ill children that if they would only believe more faithfully ,their children would be healed completely. Absolute shyster in my book. And he has a fugly hairdo;)

Susannah

People like that make me want to hurl.

During my care home days we had religious nuts that would come in and do "church services" weekly. While I am not a religious person that didn't mean my patients were not. I gave them a building to do their thing. Well, until my patients started explaining what was going on during church services.

I had quite a few paranoid schizophrenics and the nice church people were telling them they were fine physically and mentally, the voices they were hearing were the devil and his followers. They were ALL hysterical one day because they believed they were possessed.

Let's just say the nice church people were told if they returned I'd be calling the police. How can people be THAT mean and cruel? Idiots.

I finally got some REAL church people in that didn't preach from their own lack of education but the bible instead. I may not agree with it but that doesn't mean others can't hear it as they please.

Hey Bubble, I reckon there are probably many religious people who are out there doing good deeds and helping others, no doubt. I just can't stomach The Benny Hinn's of this world, preying on scared and vulnerable people during the worst time of their lives.

Hinn tries to BS people that major chronic illness can be cured by faith and "Sowing a seed" of ca$hola into his ministry. Mate I have MS and there is no cure for it. I will probably live a normal life with challenges along the way, but cut the crap. I mean really.

Once I get my Benny Hinn costume and dead squirrel hair piece I plan to make my money by setting myself up as a Mistress of Discipline. Those who want to pay to be smacked around will be my disciples.:rolleyes It will be a great way to spend my retirement/golden years.

It's not just the fact that he was human and made mistakes. He taught hate and filth.

the world is a better place without him.

No longer is he able to spew his venom to innocent people. He was in a position where he could have made the world a better place but he chose not to.

He will be remembered - for his ludicrous deeds and accusations. He made "Christian" sound like a bad word.

Get this, they arrested a student at Falwell's university because he had exposives and was apparently planning to "make sure protesters don't interupt his funeral."

Liberty U student plotted to set off explosives, police say

LYNCHBURG, Virginia (CNN) -- A first-year Liberty University student was arrested in what police said was a plot to detonate explosive devices Tuesday, the day of the Rev. Jerry Falwell's funeral.

Mark David Uhl's intended target is unknown, authorities said.

ABC News reported the youth told authorities he had made the bombs -- which were found in his car -- to stop protesters from disrupting Falwell's funeral. (Read the story about Falwell's funeral)

Police received a call about 11 p.m. Monday from one of Uhl's family members, who said they had talked with him and he had "mentioned some explosive devices he had made," said Maj. Steve Hutcherson of the Campbell County, Virginia, sheriff's office.

Authorities found in Uhl's vehicle "what appeared to be about six explosive devices" that had detonation devices with them, Hutcherson said. The homemade devices were canisters with some kind of liquid inside.

A Virginia State Police bomb squad was summoned to ensure the items were safe, he said.

Uhl, 19, from Amissville, Virginia, was arrested at the home of one of his friends in Campbell County, near Lynchburg, Hutcherson said.

He was being held without bond in the Campbell County Adult Detention Center on suspicion of manufacturing explosive devices.

"Anytime you have somebody with what appears to be explosive devices, you have to take that threat seriously," Hutcherson said.

I don't believe in the hypocrisy of not speaking ill of the dead. What moronic crap. Falwell was an evil man who taught that hate was a Christian virture. He helped no one but himself and the people who agreed with him.

LOL! Priceless post.

I agree with you and I also feel that he certainly was not representative of what Christ supposedly taught. He did nothing but give people permission to hate in the name of Christianity. Some people were duped and fell for it, most were not.

I'm not the least bit concerned about what his children will accomplish. Falwell lost a heck of a lot of power after 9/11 when even the hard core right wingers saw through his hate and venom. His kids may have had a great teacher in how not to practice their faith but Falwell will be forgotten in no time. Well, as soon as many of his messes are cleaned up.

Oh geez. I thought I must be the only "evildoer" who actually said, Yea, Amen! when I heard Falwell died. You people are going to hell, you know. (In your tinky-winky outfits and dead squirrel rugs.)

The thing that I've never understood about Falwell's followers is why they didn't see that he was a mean, hateful, black-hearted, greedy, fear monger and that just because he called himself Christian didn't make him a good man. His money raising tactics were devious and self-serving but he preached that it was for the glory of God. Hmmm. Similar tactics of some presidents.

Benny Hinn - now that's just pure theatrics. He deserves all the money he can bilk outa people. He is extremely obvious and even openly laughs at some of the people who let him "cure" them. It's all in fun, down to the clown suit and cotton candy hairdid. So if he can get peeps to give him money, by damn he deserves it. That's not an easy act! At least he isn't phoney in his solicitation - he wants a plane so cough it up people. giggle, snert. :heh:

There's only a few people who I think deserved it more, one of which is that nutso that leads the "God hates fags!" group. His name isn't coming to me at the moment, but I think that his existance is massive proof that there isn't a God.

Devana- I actually knew a couple once who supported him financially - and they had lots of ways and means to do it. They never missed a broadcast and actually moved to Florida to be near him. Believe me, Benny Hinn will have the last laugh... always!

I'm pretty sure he came by his talent accidentally one day. He pushed someone down who was in his way. Frustrated Benny said "Oh Christ!" When the bumpee got up he realized that his hemorhoids stopped hurting at the very moment he heard Benny utter the word, Christ, and the rest is history. Once Benny realized his good fortune, he managed to acquire all the accouterments for a magic troop, the church setting, the costume, the rest of the dog and pony show and now he's laughing all the way to the bank.*

*It is quite late and I am merely entertaining myself. I actually have no ill feelings toward such a successful entrepreneur.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
