Has anyone had a Mini Gastric Bypass in Mexico?

Recommended Posts

I'm planning to have a Mini Gastric Bypass and would love to hear experiences others have had with the procedure. Mine will be done in Tijuana, and I'm also interested in learning about what that was like if your surgery was in Mexico, too.

Thanks so much!

I didn't have mini but the full gastric bypass and it was done in Tijuana on Oct 3 by Dr Garcia. It was an easy experience and I have nothing but great things to say about the florence Health System Hospital and his team.

Have you picked a surgeon? I'm right now researching this as a revision from sleeve.

Thank you!

I met another lady on here who will be having surgery with Dr. Rod the same day I am. Since I'm going by myself, finding someone else I'll "know" there has helped me a lot.

When are you thinking of having yours done?

Thank you, Rocky!

Three months ago I didn't think I could stand such a long wait, but the time passed fast. It's hard to believe, but I'm all packed and ready to go. :D

My surgery was Friday, March 20th with Dr. Jose Rodriguez. I'm home and feeling good! No issues at all so far.

I'm scheduled for a revision from sleeve to mini bypass in Mexico on march 31. As long as it goes as easy as my first surgery I will be thrilled. Just hoping this one works better in the long run.

ALERT!!! This company is in Mexico but scheduling from the United States! If anyone is contemplating surgery with WeightLossAgents.com/Sleeve and it's affiliates you need to look on the web and on YouTube to find out about the allegations that patients are dying who have had WLS at this clinic! There is a video of Angie D. Stidum, from San Diego California in a coma who died in January of this year and three others who have died before and shortly after leaving this facility. They themselves or the families of the deceased have expressed to the channel 10 team, that several other patients from the United States who say that they have been left at the border on their deathbeds! Please go on YouTube and punch in the owners name, Jarred Cohen, his wife Alexis Cohen as well as Dr. Almanza and others affiliated with this clinic! This is a scary prospect and people need to have the full story! I don't have all of the facts but this is the report rendered by the news team at channel 10 in San Diego California. Be informed, be diligent and please be wise!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
