oh. And also I need 3 months medically supervised weight loss attempts. Which I'm hoping at the appointment I'll be able to start as well.

Chyla, that sound great. I agree that after the first appointment, the nerves settle down a little bit. Doesn't it feel good to know that you are taking control of your health? I know that it does to me. Also, knowing that we have so much support through the process makes me believe that THIS is really the time that all of the effort will pay off!

I just hope nothing goes terribly wrong these few months leading up to the surgery. I'm just worried about keeping my insurance! This is a new job and I'm hoping i keep it (at least long enough to complete this process... haha)

Also in my beginning phases. I have had my Psych eval and first mid level with doc. Monday 15th I have both Nutrition classes. I have completed all blood work, chest xray, ekg, and h pyloria now those are done and previous CT scan results sent over. Mammogram dec 21st. Then nothing until Jan 6, hubby and I have to attend a support group together. I then return to doc on Jan 13 and PT eval. Then we shall see, I would hope they will submit for surgery after that with everything done by then.

Not scared I will be refused, just wish I knew when this was. I hate the not knowing part. I am a very inpatient person by nature, I multitask to get it all done, and this is very trying. IF I just knew the date, I would be goal focused. I am focused on the goal, I am doing all my duties working towards. this week I have been caffeine free and eating with the baby spoon, trying to work on all that. TIME will tell for sure.............

@@Salonboi, it's pretty easy ^-^ just go to the person's page by clicking their name, then on the right there will be the option to add as a friend.

And @@Laurac727, how long did it take you to get that far???? I'm just frightened this is going to take me a year......

okay, update!
Very excited. I went to my appointment today and finally got up the nerve
to tell my doctor i've started the steps toward WLS.
This whole time I thought he'd laugh in my face and I've been having serious
anxiety issues related to this, but I got over it and just dove in.
I was so happy when he immediately looked at my little folder the
WLS seminar gave me, and started planning my appointments for everything
I need done. In fact, he took a blood sample and had the EKG done right then and there!

All I can do is sigh in relief. Now all I need is to attend all these crazy courses and do
two or three other things, and I'm well on my way!

Oh, except for the fact the EKG showed some abnormality
(that he's apparently not "too worried about", but I still need
to meet with a cardiologist and have them further look in to it).

I've found the perfect surgeon for me!!! I have a client who's in the health profession, and she has several very good friends who went to this Dr.. Funny thing when I asked her advice earlier that week I kept bumping into that Dr's profile online

Well that's good! He sounds like quite the catch!
The surgeon who spoke at the seminar I attended
seemed wonderful, so I'm definitely going to be looking

in to him further.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
