IM BACK AGAIN GUYS :)

BACK WITH SOME MORE QUESTIONS/ADVICE FROM ALL YOU EXPERIENCED SLEEVERS!

YOUR ANSWERS ARE HELPING ME IN MORE WAYS THAN YOU THINK! THANK YOU!!

HERE ARE SOME MORE IF YOU DONT MIND!

1) IS IT INEVITABLE THAT I WILL GET DEHYDRATED THE FOLLOWING WEEKS POST OP? IF I AM DILLIGENT AND STRICT ON MY Fluid INTAKE, CAN I AVOID IT OR IS IT JUST GOING TO HAPPEN ANYAYS BECAUSE OF THE SWELLING IN MY STOMACH/SIZE OF IT?

2) FOR ALL YOU LADIES OUT THERE: DOES THE SURGERY PUT YOU IN YOUR CYCLE AFTER? HOW DID WEIGHT LOSS AFFECT YOUR CYCLE/PMS?

3) VITAMINS----IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO TAKE Vitamins IMMEDIATLEY POST OP (CHEWABLES/DISSOLVE) TO MAINTAIN NUTRITION?

4) PRE OP DIET: WAS THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS? IM GOING THROUGH SMART SHAPE---THEY HAVE A LINE OF PRE OP DIET shakes ETC THAT I WILL TAKE. DID THIS PRE OP DIET EFFECT YOU TO THE POINT WHERE U WERE SICK IN BED? NEGATIVE REACTION?

I LOVE YOU GUYS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWERS :)

Hello,

No it is not inevitable you will get dehydrated. Sip, sip and sip some more. My cycle changed slightly, it just came earlier the month of surgery then stayed on track after that. I didn't take Vitamins until about 10 days out. Really only chewable but your NUT should direct you or your doctor. Pre op side effects may include any caffeine withdraws such as headaches but I seriously doubt you would be sick in bed. Depending on how long your pre-op diet is you may get sick of the shakes but otherwise you should be ok. Good luck to you.

I would agree I don't think it is inevitable at all. I didn't get dehydrated after my surgery. My cycle changed slightly as well, just a little earlier in the month as well. I seem to get a bit more cramping but I am 6 months out and things are regulating. chewables are nasty...I think at my 1 month post op I asked to get off of those, and they said you can try the petites and see how you tolerate them, I am now back to a regular multi Vitamin that I take at night. Thank goodness for that! You will be fine! Good Luck!

You shouldn't get dehydrated if you sip all day. Always have a cup of Water with you. I took one with me everywhere I went for the first several weeks.

My period hasn't been affected at all. PMS makes me feel unenergetic, but nothing too bad.

My surgeon had me take a Multivitamin for the first month or so, then I started on the Calcium, Iron and B12. Good luck to you!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
