#TransformationTuesday: Before & Current Progress Photos!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone! No matter which surgery you had, we can always be proud and happy to share our progress. In the WLS Community we have something called the Transformation Tuesday where everyone will post there starting photo and compare it with their current photos side by side. Come back every Tuesday to share your progress and to view everyone else's! :)

__________________________________________________

Attached is my current progress photo. Not all of you know this but I have been battling complications with my WLS since 2/2008 when I was first banded. I was revised to the VSG in 9/2010 and then again just recently to the Bypass on 7/9/2014. Today I am doing amazing. I think I'm FINALLY healed from everything and the going is good. I'm happy to share that I am only a few pounds from goal and my goal size. It's slow going but I think after so much one just realizes that being better than yesterday is really all that matters.

Starting Weight 320 - Current Weight 218!!

Went from a size 26 to a 16 boardering on needing 14's

Surgery date 4/30/2014 - Almost to the 6 month mark and down 102 LBS!!

1st two pictures were our Christmas shots last November, Halloween shot was taken last friday and I was SO proud to be the Queen and really FEEL like I deserved to dress up...I haven't dressed up for halloween since I was probably 22. This was a huge step...and to note...it was big on me :)

I'm a day late, but here's my transformation pictures. I'm below goal at this point so this is really a before and after shot but for those who are morbidly obese, it's good for them to see that they can be successful. I've lost more weight than I currently weigh. I haven't been this size since I was a teenager back in the dinosaur days..lol.

@ If you don't mind me asking, what was the reason you went from a sleeve to bypass?

@ Rut Ro Raggy.....I have acid reflux now...as long as I take 1 Nexium a day I am fine.........................I don't want Bypass :(

But I also have a hiatal hernia being removed which who knows...that could be the cause of my reflux!!

@@Eclectick

Hernias do cause reflux many times. I was on 40mg omeprazole in the am, 20mg Ranitidine before bed, cough meds and Syrup all day, lozenges. It was a 24 hour deal for me.

Thankfully I am 100% now post op. No more medications at all and my reflux is gone. However I did not have a hernia either so that wasn't why I had it.

The Bypass really isn't nearly as worrisome as some seem to think. It saved my life.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
