Port placement and tummy tuck HELP!

Recommended Posts

Hello - I was banded in '06 and I've lost around 90lbs. My stomach looks like deflated bread dough... after the second rising punch down. Awesome. Anyway, I thought I would march in and get my Tummy Tuck and the surgeon would just move my port below the muscle or below my belly button so it wouldn't show as bad. These plastic surgeons look at me like I have two heads. One said I would have to talk to a general surgeon that has operating privileges in his surgery center to see how much he would charge or if he would even do it. Un-suturing this thing and suturing it below (my new!) belly button seems pretty simple. WTF? Amy I crazy? Also have any of you gotten the lower profile port? It doesn't appear to be that much smaller than the original one. I don't have a lot of fat on my belly and this thing sticks out HORRIBLY. Thanks banisters!

Hi - Congrats on your weight loss! I had a full abdominoplasty and a mastoplexy at the same time by a plastic surgeon here in Canada. There was no issue at all moving my port, in fact it never even came up as a concern. Maybe you can check with your surgeon on who his other patients have gone to (if you already haven't).

Mine does too skittles.

My surgeon told me they could "bury it deeper" if I want. It gave me a shudder to think about "burying it deeper" in me. I'll probably just wait for the inevitable PS to get it repositioned, i.e.: buried deeper

I think they place it on the top muscles because they have to get those needles through our thick fat and into the port for fills when we're newbies

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
