Calling January Sleever????

Recommended Posts

My surgery is in 4 days and I'm kind of having a melt down. I'm not afraid of the surgery, I'm afraid of how I will cope w.out my "bff" food. It makes me ashamed to even say that. For most of my life it's been my coping mechanism. Feeling sad eat a huge bowl of Pasta. Feeling happy have some cake. To know this will change even if it's for the better is extremely over whelming. It saddens me to recognize how much of a food addict I am. Sorry for being a Debbie downer. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! !

@@Lisa22280 I hear what you are saying!!!! My surgery is also in 4 days and not only am I afraid (use to be scared til I received support on here), but I also don't want to lose what I'm able to eat now!!! In the last 48 hours I have bounced back and forth between getting a nutritionist and trainer and then saying I will have the surgery!!!!! My surgery is also in 4 days. I have been at 3 party functions since I started the pre op diet on Dec. 26 and didn't slip but it killed me!!!!!! Today I'm sick to my stomach from the Protein shake!!! So I totally understand what you are saying and YOU ARE NOT A DEBBIE DOWNER!!!! Happy New a Year!!!

I see a lot of comments referring to head hunger. I'm trying to be more cognoscente of realizing when that is happening but being on a liquid diet has me reeling with hungry hungry thoughts , last night I felt like I needed to be caged up ...LOL . I wanted to cry a couple times I felt so hungry . I saw that Metamucil capsules can be helpful with that , has anyone tried this? Does head hunger actually make you physically feel hungry like your belly has the rumbly tumblys and everything or is that true hunger.....because if that's head hunger I'm in deep shit. Someone mentioned about there Family eating in front of them , I thought I'd be ok with this but I had the strongest reaction to my family making burgers last night , I was so agitated and again "starving" it was just upsetting , I hope this isn't what I have to look forward to post op, I'm getting kinda scared about it.

@jbrooks_rn. It might have been me that said I had my family to dinner. I have had 3 parties since 12/26 which was the day I started my liquid diet. I looked at those events as if I had an alcohol addiction would I expect no one to drink and my answer was no. This was a decision that I made. I can't expect everyone to live by my guidelines right now. They are supportive in many other ways, they can't give up their life for me! Good luck with your journey and Happy New Year! When is your surgery date?

Happy New Years to all you January Sleevers....This is OUR month and I'm so excited we get to start our new year out with our feet finally walking in the right direction. I was doing so good on the Water and somehow feel off the wagon I think it is because the water had been tasting funny to me but otherwise I guess I'm surviving as best as I can and luck is also on my side because my time of the month is normally when the surgery was suppose to be but I got it today...THANK goodness that would of just been something I would not have wanted to deal with only a week and 4 days left for me and I'm super ready! Have an awesome day ppl!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
