Please tell me if your nose gets smaller after weight loss surgery?

@bellabill I'm so glad you asked this question as my glasses are getting tighter on my face especially around my temples. I sure hope my nose and face get smaller!

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. There's hope! Yeah!

There is definitely hope that our face will shrink and the better finer facial features will appear!

When I lost my weight I noticed my eyes looked way bigger ( which is because my chubby cheeks were no longer squishing them) I also got a smaller pair of glasses and lost a full shoe size.It is also nice to have lost fat around my neck so I can wear cute necklaces again.

I haven't noticed a change in my nose specifically, but my face in general looks slimmer. Everything slims. I've had to take out links in my watch three times. I've gone from a 8.5/9 Wide shoe to 7.5 regular. Just Saturday I dropped off my wedding rings to get re-sized. I went from a 8.5 to a very comfortable 6! The jeweler said he'd even feel comfortable cutting them down to a 5.5, but they'd get a bit snug during crawfish season. :P

I think with age your nose is more inclined to get bigger. My nose looks more defined with the weight loss but the size seems to have gotten longer/bigger? However, I am in that aging range.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
