Something you might try to beat the plateau, is change up your excercise routine if your doing a lot of walking try an eliptical or a bike and so on. I havent gotten to that point, but thats what my trainer has told me.

Also is it true that you lose the majority of weight between 6-18 months? Anyone?

I understand that normally the first year is the best opportunity for weight loss, and every pound is harder as time goes on. But what's normal? This band experience is sooo individualized! I lose in spurts with long plateaus in between.....

OK. My report back. I ate grazed between 2 and 5 PM on 2 days. I exercised on almost every day. It's all a step in the right direction. More importantly for me, I kept a food log...which I ahven't done in a long time, and that straightened out quite a few of my bad behaviors. My goals for this week are to exercise 6 out of 7 days, not graze between 2 and 5, keep my food log, and only watch TV standing up or exercising, if I'm watching anything before 8 PM.

Does anyone know if what Ol Miss Chic suggested works? She said

she was going back on liquids to jump start her weight loss again.

I need to stay with this thread. I am tired of these plateaus. I had a resting metobolic test taken which told me I have a very slow metebolism. I already knew that, but at least my dr. knows it now too, and will stop

thinking I am not following his rules. I am getting another fill on 6-7,

but until then, I am not going to watch every single bite I put in my mouth.

I am not going to eat junk food, but I agree that my body gets too used

to what I do and I need to do something different. Maybe by the time

I get my fill, my body will be ready to start losing again. I have already

tried upping the intensity of my work outs, and that hasn't seemed to help.

Hmm... If you are gaining weight you can clearly eat. What are you eating? Are you tracking calories? How is your restriction? When was your last MD visit?

Wow I just read my post from a year ago and now I am at goal.

If you are not losing, are you eating white carbs. White carbs are evil.

I eat Protein and veggies and a little big of fruit in between meals and that is how I made it to goal. The only thing that works is staying motivated.

No, the band doesn't just stop working. You have to be consuming enough calories to not only maintain your weight but gain weight as well.

I would start tracking your food, you are getting more calories than you realize. liquid calories? Start tracking your food and start there. Exercise, how many hours weekly are you doing hard cardio? Weight training? How many carbs are you eating daily? Carbs would be sugar, Pasta, anything with flour, potatoes, rice, etc.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
