I'm 4 weeks post op and I'm in the puree stage. Trying new foods and getting nowhere. eggs and egg beaters are big no no's for my stomach. Getting tired of turkey chili and instant mashed potatoes. Any suggestions?? Oh stomach likes broccoli cheese rice also.

Refried Beans with cheddar, lentil Soup in the blender, chicken or tuna salad in the blender.....any meat in the blender with some gravy. Search "ricotta bake" on these forums.

Some things I remember eating.....Refried Beans, soft cheeses, pureed split pea Soup, pureed bean soup, cream Soups with added Protein powder, cottage cheese, pureed tuna fish (sounds gross but it was yummy with a dab of mustard), cooked squash, sweet potatoes, plain greek yogurt flavored with Protein Powder or Pureed fruit, deviled ham, applesauce.

And I ever only tried 1 new thing every day or two to not overwhelm my tummy.

I just use mayo, celery (although early out I skipped the celery) and dehydrated onion for both tuna and chicken salad.....sometimes a little spicy brown mustard in the chicken salad for a little zing.

Full liquids 18 days then puréed days 18-28 then soft food till 40 days. Took me a little longer then that to tolerate a lot of things.....3 months till I felt normal

Also another question. How long did you stay on the puree stage?

Didn't your surgeon's office give you a meameal/diet plan? I don't remember exactly but I had a packet with a list of food examples by the week. I think I went off purees after the 4th week but I would suggest you ask your doctor.

Cottage cheese, greek yogurt, refried Beans with a little cheese and taco sauce (not chunky), egg/tuna/chicken salads, corned beef or roast beef hash (if was flavorful!!), ricotta cheese with spaghetti sauce and some parmesan, Soups galore (while adding some Protein powder), and lots of eggs for me....

To zing up chicken, tuna or egg salads I used about a tbsp of mayo or greek yogurt with a little wasabi paste, or curry, or brown mustards, or cumin for a southwestern flavor. Currently stuck on the curry powder - so good!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
