Recommended Posts

Hey everyone..

I am 1 week post op... Oh the pain I have in that one incision spot where they removed the stomach...I mean pain is a 7-8-9 at times.. Feel like there is a ball::: Anyone else have this???

Also I take a few sips of Water or Soup and I have pain when it goes down and I get so bloated... Anyone else??

Just want to make sure it's normal..

Down 14lbs already post op

I have a larger incision by my belly button, I'm assuming that's where they pulled my stomach out. It was numb for a few days and then the feeling came back. I didn't have pain that ever measured that high on the pain scale, but we are all different and my acupuncturist said I have a really high pain tolerance.

If the pain meds aren't helping, I'd call your doctors office. Also try a heating pad, or maybe even ice the area. I am 2 weeks and 4 days post op and there are times when I feel like I've been kicked in the gut. Today my niece almost fell over and I jumped to grab her and for the next hour, I could feel all the incision sites.

Remember, they had to cut through muscle to get into our abdomen, so it will be sore for a bit.

I asked the same question last week haha...I'm a hypochondriac now lol

Thanks... Yeah I was also told when you have fair skin you have a lot of pain... I also had hiatal hernia repair and gall bladder removed..

What about the eating I asked about

Try some gas x and walking. That's what I was told by others. If I eat or drink too much, I do get a pain in the middle of my chest. The first week I was so gassy, I was burping nonstop! I felt like such a pig LOL.

I was just talking to a gal at my surgeons office and she has the sleeve as well and told me that the middle chest pain is like the food hitting a brick wall and our body saying "no more."

I too had a hernia repair and it was only painful for a few days. The worst I felt was when I vomited and it felt like my stomach was trying to go through the hernia repair. It was so painful!

I had my surgery on Tuesday 7/10. I don't have any pain on any of the incision sites. I would check that with your doctor. In regards to the pain when eating. Yes I get that, but my NUT says take smaller sips and slower between sipping. I have had custard about 80mls plain yogurt 60mls and about 4 spoonfuls of Soup at each of my lunch and dinner session. I find apple juice gives me a indigestion type pain as well, so just sticking with Water. We just need to take it very slow!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
