Recommended Posts

Anyone have gvs with a bmi of 31?? If so what's your weight Loss like? What problems have you encountered? And what are your stats and body shape? I have a smaller top but unusually larger legs and lower half. Has anyone had surgery with this body type? Please give stats and if possible bf after photos

You will likely lose a lot of weight with WLS. I don't even think it's possible to compare someone else's loss pics with might happen with your body. Women just have different shapes and sizes and lose weight differently. After weight loss, if you still perceive an imbalance of proportion, I suggest wearing clothes that hug you right under the bust and loser from that point on down. You will look fabulous!

I had a BMI of 30 when I went in. The intake person said to me....why are you having this surgery? I told her I was having it to save my life....I had HBP, high cholestoral, bad hip, bad knees, bad feet and was a thin person trapped in a fat body. That was 3 years ago (this month). I was 58 years old. Want to see Before and After? Look here...and don't look back! Look at the photos of my last blog entry (I kept a blog for the first year). And I have 12 months of before and after photos....my life has never been more full or more happy. Do it! http://www.queenofcrop.com/archives/2012/12/

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
