Fills: What's your "green zone"?

Recommended Posts

I'm 3 weeks post op and I received my first fill today. I have a 10cc Allergan Lap Band (AP) and my doctor added 3cc's. He told me to come back in three weeks and he will add a little bit more Fluid. I know it's different for each person but I'm curious, for those who are in the green zone how much Fluid do you have in your band? How long did it take for you to reach that stage?

I'm not sure but I think I'm now in the green. I've had four fills and I'm 7.5 in my 14cc band. My appointment in October will not be a fill.

I am 6 weeks post op and not allowed a fill until end of September. First available date is Oct 6 in this area. I have 4 cc in my band. I need to watch what I eat until I can get fills. I am healing my body first. Ensuring I drink lots of Water and getting in my steps per day. The band is a tool.

It took me a few fills....one fill every 4 weeks after surgery, for a total of 3....hit the Green Zone after 3rd fill, 12 weeks after surgery. And just like many here have said things got very crazy after that and it took me a while to adjust to it and find that "Groove" and how to live within that Zone....a full year later I was still learning some important lessons...but after that it all became very after of fact and easy.

My surgeon doesn't share the amount so I have no idea, but he is of the small frequent fills school. My band was not primed at surgery and I had my first fill four weeks out, second the fifth week, then sixth week another. This lasted me a while -- goal was satiety after a tennis-ball sized portion and not hungry again for 4-5 hours. I had one but not the other. Each time I've had a fill it takes a while for it to settle in, for me to feel the difference. I have gone back for subsequent fills after feeling a return of appetite, and I have had one small unfill when I felt like I might have crossed over into the red zone. Don't want that!

I've had 3 fills and no green zone yet. I'm hoping the fourth one will do the trick. Still feel hungry and able to eat too much. Working on learning to eat slower and chew more.

Think I maybe in the green zone. 5fills don't get hungry between meals however, I can eat 8 oz at dinner sometimes. My Dr said don't worry about 8 oz its still less than what I use to eat. Breakfast is a Protein ssmoothie normal 4oz lunch.< /p>

I have 6.5cc in my 10cc band and that seems to be the sweet spot for me. I had about 7 fills ( and one unfill) to get to that point. It's amazing how a tiny difference can move you into the red zone. I have been at 6.5 since about May of this year and unless I feel huge difference, I am going to ride this out. I have a new job and my fills are not covered and honestly I cant afford the out of pocket fees.

I had my surgery August 4 of this year. As of Monday I have had 4 fills. I pray this helps me get to my green zone. I have been feeling really discouraged that I am not loosing any weight.

I have a 14cc band & I thought a couple months ago that I had 11cc's in my and but my Surgeon said let's check to make sure so he did and I had 10cc's , as of last Wednesday I now have 10 1/2 cc's in the band & apparently it has helped besides me eating healthy , I have other issues so I am always up & down , but only by a few lbs. , but the inches still move off my body.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
