Alzheimers disease? Beni, my insurance doesn't have a minimum diet wait, it is my hospitals program. They would have approved me long ago.

Oh, I see. I sure hope it's only 3 months. There is only so much NUT training one can do. It will go quick. I am convinced they do it in part to allow the patient enough time to process the information and wrap her/his mind around the concept that this is going to take some work.

There is an impression out there that bariatric surgery is the easy way out. It most certainly is not! I feel like it's getting in that dingy as the Titanic sinks. My choice is to take the dingy to choose life. But that dingy ride in the frigid North Atlantic is not going to be the easy way out.

Just waiting on to see what date my op is my guess would be near end of October. And to do any needed tests.

Oh, that's not so bad.

I just came back from the doctors office for EKG and blood test. The results will be back in two days.

It is 28 days until surgery

Already had those done. Did blood test last week EKG before I had to get laser eye treatment for my eyes at royal Perth hospital it was a older test might have to redo but my weight from then and now is only around 2kg diff so I'll see. Need to see diabetics specialist as well. Was told he only does a 2 day liquid diet tho and post op was told I'm not allowed to drink Optifast.

Interested how my overall blood sugars are ATM my diabetics haven't been very well controlled for years. And lately been around 4-8 they call it differently everywhere else lol. But the norm is 5-8 around but on occasion it's gone to 13.

Oh good, you have done a lot already. The good news is this will help with the diabetes for sure.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
