Sleeved on the 3rd of August!! How long did the pain last on your left side...it hurts getting up and down!! But trying to walk as much as possible!!

The pain for me lasted a few days. I stopped pain killers once I got home bc it felt like soreness from doing crunches, and I just pushed thru it. Walking is good, just be careful with that. I hit 4 weeks on Tues coming, and suddenly this week, after NO pain, I'm feeling pain at my largest cut when I move. I've been told it's from healing, but the better I started feeling, the more I started doing. It's still major surgery and I'm beginning to think I may have started doing a little too much. But, I'm sure it depends on each person, the best to you! Hope your pain eases up soon!

Hey y'all!

I had my revision from a lapband to a sleeve on Monday.I agree with teitei636's description of the pain. When I was in the hospital, it felt like I had done too many stomach crunches. The gas pain that I'm feeling whether I'm drinking something or not feels like muscle spasms. Don't get me wrong, it hurts. But I think I was expecting to feel like I had been cut and that's not how it feels at all.

shrinkmepls, Dr Kim did my surgery 3 years ago. How did your visit with him go?

So happy I found this thread. I am going to my first appointment with dr. Holden of kim bariatrics this friday ! Good luck to everyone else !

It went good. But true results staff blew me away with there customer service and support. Plus it's cheaper out of pocket and I don't owe anything up front.

For those of you who have a relaxer still and are worried about Hair loss, I recently had a touch up and a color rinse and I've had no problems with hair loss. I was a little worried since I'm 4.5 months out and apparently that's the prime time for hair loss. Everyone is different of course, but I wanted to share my experience since hair is such a big issue!

@@lachellove There's nothing that says you can't. However, I started shedding about 3 months out. It's worked out pretty well for me considering I had been natural for about little over a year. I couldn't take it anymore and got a relaxer. I've chosen to relax my hair about every 12 weeks or so and I'm wearing a sewn in weave. I am also careful not use a lot of heat. The shedding is there but not too bad so far.

I guess the answer to your question is that everyone is different. So try to figure out what is best for you. Hey, you may not even have shedding! Make sure you get your Protein in and take your Vitamins. I also take extra Biotin.

You can still get relaxers, but sometimes your hair is more fragile after surgery, whether you are natural or relaxed. My hair has been fine so far, but I've been keeping a close eye on it.

@@lachellove that sounds exactly like what I did. My thoughts are if I don't have to style is daily, that should reduce the possibility of more shedding. The best to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
