Help Out Of Stall

Recommended Posts

I'm just going to be me.... The stall will pass. You will read many posts to do everything to a t that your doctor said, but really I just decided what I wanted to do and did it. My stall was two weeks after 10 days and I'm in another at 12 weeks.

I bought the food scale, I use my fitness pal, I bought a fit bit to count my steps. So in my mind I can see what's going on but I can't make my body lose. It will happen. It's inevitable.

I think well if I walk more and sweat in 100 degree texas heat ...

If I up my Protein ...

If I could only have a bm today ...

If I change ...

Blah blah blah.

I do mix things up. I do like seeing it down in writing. But my body is just doing it's own thing at its own pace.

I really want to see that next lower pound on the scale ...

Where are you??? That's what I haven't done is searched for it. I guess I just expected it to show up. Haha

Sorry about being a little whimsical on this but it is part of the process and you'll give yourself a pat on the back as soon as you drop the next few pounds.

This journey has been hard, extreme work, but fun in many ways.

Congratulations! You have reached "The Dreaded Week-3 Stall". It's perfectly normal and just about all of us have suffered through it. You're not crazy, and your doctor didn't screw up. In fact, you might not lose any weight for two weeks or more. But don't worry -- after that, the weight will start falling off if you stick to your program. If you're interested, here's a good article that explains why it happens and why we all have to go through it. Hang in there. Pretty soon it'll be in the rear-view mirror and you'll be dropping weight like crazy!

I'm almost 5 weeks out and have been stalled for the past 2 weeks. I'm struggling still to get enough Protein and Fluid. Any suggestions to help me keep moving and out of the stall?

I'm 5 weeks post op tomorrow and I finally came out of my 2 1/2 week stall this last Thursday and it's like everyone says the weight starts falling off again so hang in there!

Thanks for the encouragement folks, it started on schedule at 3 weeks and I'm going on two weeks at the exact same weight and only taking in 550- 650 cal/day. Frustrating but I expected it and trust it will run it's course.

Hang in there. This may be your first but it will not be your last. It's a stair step kind of journey. It's just how it works. Keep fighting the good fight and you will get there!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
