Early hair loss?

Recommended Posts

Sorry for yet another Hair loss topic but...

I'm wondering if it makes any difference when hair loss starts? I'm nearly twelve weeks post-op and hair loss started about two weeks ago. It's nothing major yet, but since I have thin hair already from PCOS, I'm concerned. I knew this was a strong possibility and I'll deal, but still, the more info I have, the better. I had heard hair loss typically starts at 4 months out, but I started at about two and half. Does that mean I can expect it to end a month an a half sooner? Does this mean it will be better or worse? Or just the same, but earlier?

Anyone else have experience with hair loss starting early?

2 1/2 months is close enough to that 3 month mark for hair loss. The damage already occurred in your early days / weeks recovering from surgery. It will stop. It will grow back. Make sure you are meeting your daily Protein and Water intake, and taking Vitamins.

If you choose to take Biotin or buy expensive shampoos that are supposed to stop the shedding, just know that those products will help your hair rebound once it starts to grow, but they do not and will not force your hair out of a loss cycle - only Rogaine can do that. Rogaine works but you'd have to use it the rest of your life or your hair falls back out.

I'm good on Protein (80-100g per day) and according to Cronometer, I'm good on all my micronutrients as well (though without the blood test until month 6, I can't really know for sure with things like Iron that can have absorption complications...). I've also been taking Rogain for over a year for my hormonal Hair loss. I'm fully prepared to take it for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped with this, but hopefully, like Biotin, it will help the eventual regrowth happen quickly and robustly...

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
