If you are taking pain meds they are a despressent and that is what might be causing you to have the blues.

Also anasteagia can cause the depressing feeling you have.

It should go away but if it doesn't or it would make you feel more secure then contact your surgeon about the depression and crying.

Feel better and take care.

Nope. I am a month out and I have difficulty watching Long Island Medium without crying. I don't feel depressed or anything, I just feel overly emotional.

I agree with Chelly. Whenever I've taken pain meds I feel so happy and floaty for two or three days then start to get very weepy and sensitive. If it goes beyond a pain med side effect you should seek medical attention.

I am 3 weeks postoperative and cried constantly the first 10 days--then it just disappeared and am back to my baseline. It should pass--but if it doesn't you should discuss with your surgeon.

I'm 4 days out from surgery and was super emotional yesterday all is ok with that now but I'm in pain n sleeping all the time. When can I look forward to being a functioning human again? I NEVER expected it to be this hard n I'm not a wimp.

It took me around five weeks before I was pain free. I don't know when I stopped being emotional. All I know is it was there and then one day it was gone.

I am almost three months out. My case could be different. Well, we are all different, of course. I do not work and have Rheumatoid Arthritis and other illnesses so things were a bit rougher for me. They still are.

I'm 9 weeks out and realized the pain meds were making me feel depressed too. Once I stopped the pain meds, I felt better. It also is just very common post op after anesthesia. Hang in there it will pass.

Thank u. I'm now almost 8 weeks post-op n I'm feeling absolutely AMAZING. I have so much energy n I've lost 45 lbs to date????????. That thankfully was the last day and only day I felt all that anxiety. I cudnt be happier about this decision I made.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
