I'm 51. Starting weight was 230, surg wt was 221 on 8/6/2013. Was down to 148 by March. I walk, work out more occasionally than consistently. BMI from 38-39 to 23 in 6-7 mos. Love my sleeve![/quote

Now that's a story I'd like to repeat! Thanks!

Female, age 47. 5'6"

Consult BMI 37

Pre op BMI 35.5 (I was made to lose at least 10 pounds, I lost 13)

Original goal 135

Re-adjusted to 145 at 6 month check in

Goal reached month 9

Total loss 90+ pounds. BMI 23.3. I may hit that original 135 pounds as I navigate early maintenance.

This is awesome! Congrats. Any secretes you'd like to pass along?

I am very encouraged by this thread. I have received approval from insurance and I am waiting to schedule surgery. Lately, I have been having thoughts of "what if I fail at this too". I'm 35, 5' 3, and 220. I'm hoping to get down to 140.

I had mine on the 21st and I still fear that I will fail. I have had no problems taking fluids, so I automatically think the worst. I weighed in at 190 day of surgery at 5'3 and just want to get to 145....

I started out at 225 when I first met my surgeon. Day of surgery 5-7-14 I was 215 & still at 36 BMI. I stuck with her orders and still follow them today. I'm now at 148 I'm 5'5" and in a size 7 Jean. I am grateful to have my life back and feel better physically and emotionally. I love my new life and appreciate my surgeon deeply.

You can read my earlier post. Sleeved June 17, started at 190 and today 149. No major issues, I just need to step up my exercise. My goal is anywhere in the 130's.

You won't fail. Have faith and heal!!!!

I was sleeved on 17.10.14 at 198 (BMI 31) today I am 190 I am finding the weight to be coming off extremely slow and it worries me that I seem to be able to consume alot of Soup and still hungry. I want to get to 145 so not massive amounts to lose but I thought this Initial liquids stage I would lose more

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
