Hello I am having some issues with wanting to revert back to my old ways. It is so stupid but I find myself going against the rules. I was able to eat normal food today . Which excited me! But after I ate I took a large gulp of diet coke! I don't know why I did that ....but I will tell u it was the worst feeling I have ever had! The pain was horrible and it lasted about an hour' the craving was totally not worth the pain . Just wondering if I was the only one who did something like that and how you handled it. I want desperately to loose the weight and I am done 37 pounds! But I don't want to gain or stay the same. Anybody have suggestions

The newbie

So, you're human. We all slip up, either in big ways or small ones. Now you know what the price is. I'm going to guess that you won't want that feeling again. I know I didn't.

Follow the rules you got from your doctor and your nutritionist, and the next time you want to do something way outside the guidelines check what else is going on. Very often people who have eating issues are reacting to something else going on in their life. It's one of the very many avoidance techniques. My psychologist has suggested a "food and mood journal". Instead of just writing what you eat, write who you are eating with and what else is going on. As patterns emerge, you can deal with them.

Please forgive yourself for making a mistake and start back with your healthy eating habits. Good luck to you!

At 4 weeks after the sleeve I did not chew a piece of chicken............enough. I ran through the house like a crazed woman when it stuck mid chest. SCARED me to death. Could not call 911 as I could not talk. Thank God it passed. ... Live and learn. We will be okay!

I have no reason why you did it other than what was previously mentioned, you are human and made a mistake. I know about that all to well. I recently went to my favorite Chinese restaurant and order their lemonade, which is the bomb(I know I shouldn't of had it). After I took a few sips it washes over me that I can't eat for 30 minutes. Needless to say that was a total screw up on my part. I have learned how much I don't pay attention while out. So I know that's an area I have to pay close attention to. I have decided that if I have only 100 days that I mess up on for the rest of my life I will be happy I am no longer going to feel guilt or shame when it comes to food. What did you learn?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
