I haven't been told that I took the easy way out yet. I get the looks from some family members instead. They will not come out and say it but their look says it all. I just want to tell them, I wasn't given the genes to be tall and skinny. I was given the genes to be short and chunky. I am tired of the excess weight and if this is the only way, so be it. People is public that have asked me are really supportive. Some family members need to learn it.

The hardest thing that I've ever done. And the bravest! Also the most effective. People who criticize are uninformed and probably can't walk a mile in our shoes! That's it in a nutshell!

My hubs told me having this surgery was courageous an brave...he's my number 1 support! Wls is in no way easy it's hard as he'll! I was sent by 2 specialist I have hashis an a humptein other diseases diabetes as of latest...I had to eat 400 cal to even lose a pd! I was hungry so I ate till I was full...this was best route for me to have a successful chance of getting weight off an the insulin resistance corrected..I kept going up n up n up in weight. ..I hit 260 an I told myself I'm not living like this no more! An if someone yells me differently it's going to be medically necessary! End of subject. ..I didn't tell all before hand didn't need to have everyone's input an critical comments. ..I'm so thrilled with what I did..have great drs an feeling so much better already! In 28 days I have lost 38 pds...it's been tuff but food is not going to rule my life! I'm going to eat to live...I was 15 plus yrs thinking about wls. ..my drs pushed me that way it was my time! 50 is going to b fabulous! ! (((Hugs)))

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
