Does anyone know if not eating enough will cause your weight loss to slow down after RNY? I tracked my food yesterday and only had 300 calories for the entire day. I'm 3 weeks post op and eating soft/regular foods.

You are in your early stages...my NUT said to eat 800-1000 calories a day but most importantly have 60-80 grams of Protein a day and calories will take its own course. 3 weeks post op I barely could eat but was on pureed and soft foods for sometime. Best advice is to follow your surgeon/nut program because it seems like a lot of us have different plans according to our surgeons/nuts. Now I am 4 months post-op and I eat about 800-1000 calories a day and keep a track of every bite I put in mouth and use my fitness pal. That tool has helped me out a lot. Most importantly you have to eat to lose...good luck!

I am only getting 300-400 calories in a day. I just am not hungry. I am doing soft foods, mainly soft chicken. I am only 2 weeks post op, and only have lost 10 lbs. I am a little frustrated that I have not lost anymore. I am walking everyday.

I have had trouble getting in 92g of Protein a day and this has stalled my weight loss. I made some Protein balls the other day to help me get in more protein without having to have a shake. I didn't get in 92 g yesterday and consequently was at the same weight today as yesterday.

Concentrate on getting in all your protein and your weight will go down :)

92 grams of Protein, WOW, I have now found another advantage to being 4'11". I will only require around 64 grams per my NUT.

I am 4 weeks post op and I am never hungry and having a very hard time getting my Protein and fluids in. I am to a point where the slightest smell of Protein Shakes etc make me so nauseated. Very concerned about getting everything in but I can only eat such small amounts. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! I am down 28 lbs so happy with that but really struggling. Best of luck to everyone for great success!

I am convinced it has to do with how much Protein you take in during the day. I had about 80 to 100 grams yesterday and lost 4 pounds. I notice if I don't get a lot of protein that sometimes I lose and sometimes I don't. Just my opinion, I'm not a doctor or nutritionist.

How do you get 80-100 g of Protein in, I am two weeks out and can't get nearly that amount of protein in. I can barely eat 1 oz. of chicken and I am stuffed.

I drink two Protein Shakes that have 23 grams, the 8oz of milk they are made of has 8 grams each. I have 4 ounces of scrambled eggs for Breakfast, 4 ounces of refried Beans for lunch and last night my husband grilled burgers. 4 ounces was a patty and half. That was 30 grams of protein. The nutritionist said to eat 4 ounces of food three times a day. If it is a denser protein like chicken I can't eat the whole 4oz. I eat very slowly and chew really well. I take the whole 30 minutes to eat.

I am only suppose to have a 1/4 cup at one sitting. I made a lean hamburger with cheese and I only could eat a quarter of it. I make one scrambled egg for breakfast and I am full.

I bought a digital kitchen scale. I measure out everything.

Here's what my day looks like:

Breakfast: Dannon Fit and Light Greek Yogurt and 3 Protein balls = 27 g

Lunch: 5 oz. chicken breast = 35 g Protein

dinner will be: 4 - 5 oz of flounder = 28 - 35 g protein

I may have a 1/2 c cottage cheese for a snack and that will put me over my needed amount.

I started eating 1 oz at a time. Then pushed to 2 oz, then 3 oz….etc…I am now up to 5 oz and can eat comfortably at that. That's where I want to be. I make sure I get in protein first and if I am full (which I usually am) I don't eat anything more, but perhaps a sugar free popsicle at night as a treat!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
