What was your favorite thing to eat in the "pureed" stage?

Recommended Posts

I craved spicy. Chili was awesome, even a couple tablespoons. Refried Beans topped with Taco Bell sauce was yummy. I had no problem with spicy. Heart healthy Soup, pureed with a blender, with added refried beans for Protein, was good.

i absolutely looooove spicy! I really hope my new sleeve loves it too! Fingers crossed!

I made a pot of red Beans. Bean broth with a TBS of Beans mashed in was delicious. I ended up freezing most of the beans. food in the blender grosses me out. I choose foods that were naturally soft and easy to mash with a fork like scrambled egg. I also kept eating my full liquid foods.

My top choice was guacamole made with Greek yogurt. Ate it with a spoon.

Refried Beans with cheese

Very soft scrambled eggs with cheese

Hummus (yes, another dip I ate with a spoon)

Mashed potatoes with FF gravy (made with skim milk and sour cream, hardly any nutritional value, but oh so good)

tuna salad mashed to almost a puree

Crab bisque

Canned tuna or chicken with a little creamy italian or ranch dressing. Not at all fancy, but always a safe bet for me. Even now, as I venture into regular foods, I stick with that for lunch every day at work. No unexpected tummy troubles, but plenty of flavor.

Another vote for refried beans! Added Greek yogurt and taco sauce to mine, plus a scoop of Protein powder and a tiny bit of broth to thin if necessary. I'd even eat it cold :)

Guacamole or just seasoned avocado for sure, with green Chile hot sauce and soft laughing cow cheese melted on top of refried Beans. I'm still reintroducing, so I can't wait for some humus and I am going to have to try crab bisque, any recipes lipstiklady ?

Add another vote for refried Beans (with a bit of shredded cheese melted on top). Or loosely scrambled eggs. Those were my two go-to foods that didn't upset my stomach.

Something I just tried - and I am well into solid foods, is the mashed cauliflower substitute for mashed potates, I served it with Swiss Steak and it was a huge hit with the entire family. Simmered the cauliflower in chicken broth until tender(soft) and whirred it in the food processor with a little butter and milk, added salt and pepper to taste. It is all gone! Family loved it and I have two kids who love Mashed Potatoes, neither of them have an ounce of fat on them by the way - I am the only one in the whole family on a diet LOL

I had read a few places to substitute mashed cauliflower for mashed potatoes. I'm definitely going to have to try this. I used to love mashed potatoes, so finding a good substitute would be nice :D Plus, cauliflower's the only vegetable my kids all actually like, so I could get them to eat it as well :D Win-win all around :D

I'm pre-surgery now, But we love the mashed cauliflower in my house.

My 4 year old daughter can't tell the difference and just assumes it's mashed potatoes. Sometimes I put a little cheese and real bacon bits in it BAM!..Loaded mashed potatoes.

I pureed alot of tuna salad. Fish goes down really easy for me. I still eat alot of Tuna. It used to give me reflux but not anymore. My dietician said fish is more easily tolerated because it doesn't have the connective tissue that beef and chicken has. If you mix a can of tuna with a little bit of pickle relish, low fat or fat free mayo and some hard boiled egg and put it in the Nutra Bullitt for a spin it comes out smooth and tasty.

Olive Garden will purée minestrone Soup for you if you ask them to put it in a blender for you. It was such a treat when I was in purée stage.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
