7 days post op sleeved with 102.7 temp.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I was sleeved on 7/15. Today makes one week. I've been running a fever on and off all day. Tried calling my doc but he never called me back :-/. Current temp 102.7. I want to avoid going to the ER as much as possible. I'm going to take a Tylenol and see if that helps.

Has anyone experienced this?

Hey, I'm not on the post-op side yet but I like reading how people are doing on this side. I'm sorry you are not feeling well and I hope you are feeling better soon. I saw that you are thinking of taking Tylenol. My practice has informed me to avoid pills unless chewable after surgery. But I know medical advice differs for everyone. Did your surgeon give you a list of medications you should not take after surgery? If your fever persist you should consider seeking medical attention. There has to be a reason for the temperature if it continues.

For the most part my recovery has been well. I haven't had to take much of the pain medication and I prefer not to bc it's pretty strong. My doctor approved Tylenol but i must crush it. The same with the pain medication he prescribed. It's really gross but I get through it.

I think you should go to ER- if nothing else for Hydration-But any fever after surgery needs to be checked -we are set

Up for pneumonia . Blood clot, dehydration - sorry you are going thru this

Go to the ER.. I know it's a pain in the ass but it's better to go where there are professionals

I think you guys are right. I just spoke to my surgeon #finally. He told me there is no way he can tell over the phonb if my symptoms are related to my surgery.

He said it sounds like it could could a cold but the only way for them to tell is an upper GI test.

Better safe than sorry right? #headedtotheER

Vsg on 7/17/14 discharged next day, took pain meds about 5-6 days then took Tylenol as needed- started having slight burning to the side of umbilical puncture site (burning /stinging)-had follow up appt with md and he said sometimes when people get moving more they get that feeling and it's right where he put a stitch in muscle and not to worry. Just wondered if any of you had this problem. I was so happy to be off narcotics but took narcs again last night just to see if I could get ahead of pain a bit.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
