Just got those dreaded gallstones and will need to have my gallbladder removed next week, not surprised that I got the but I'm so surprised by how soon. I'm 16wks post op, 60lb loss. Anyone else had gallstones this soon?

I knew I had gallstones before my RNY because I'd already had a pretty bad attack. My surgeon wouldn't combine procedures so I had mine removed six months later, in the same year so my deductible was already met. It was a freebie. I have to warn you, though, I found the pain level much higher with my gallbladder removal. My RNY was a piece of cake by comparison. Even so, by one week after I was feeling much improved and glad not to have the threat of a gallbladder attack hanging over my head anymore. :-)

I have had gallbladder issues for over a year so my surgeon will be removing it along with my RNY in August. I think I may be more excited about finely having that gone then the WLS right now lol ..... those attacks seriously suck!

Getting my gallbladder out was super easy compared to this rny surgery.

I got gallstone attacks every week for about 7 weeks when I was pregnant with my twins. Couldn't eat anything w/o triggering one. Lived on Slim Fast drinks only. Had to get twins heartbeats on monitors before they would give me the demerol/phenergan cocktail, then wait two hours to get another dose for the pain to stop. Every. Single. Time. I wanted to die.

7 days after emergency csection at 33 wks (severe preeclampsia) the duct got blocked. 3 days later my gallbladder came out. The next day all three of us went home.

Gallstones suck!! Good riddance!

Help. . I got my gallbladder removed June 19 I've had enough but problems I'm in excruciating pain anytime I drink something or eat there is stabbing in sternum through my back and my shoulder blade literally dropped me to my knees mean I got a CT. An MRCP there is no stones left behind as the report show I do have Fluid on the fossa area. so I'm at a complete loss they're going to send me now to another GI specialist to have a scope done. is anyone else experiencing I do not have any gallstones in my gallbladder however it was three times its normal size and was full of infection. ????????????

Not sure how a HIDA scan would help. The GB has been removed, I've had a US done n CT which found the sludge, making cholecystectomy a must. Now the pain has warranted the MRCP which only shows fuild. I'm wondering if it could be SOD, it does show, dilation od the CBD.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
