I REALLY DONT WANT ANOTHER STORY... I LOST 80 LBS WITH THE BAND AND I WILL WATCH WHAT I EAT AND BE MORE MOBILE AND ACTIVE...I HAVE MADE THIS DECISION AND IT WAS HARD. I REALIZE THAT I WILL NEVER BE SKINNY I WILL ALWAYS BE ME EITHER YOU ACCEPT ME FOR WHO I AM NOR YOU DONT I AM AT THE AGE WHERE I DONT CARE. ITS ABOUT ME ACCEPTING ME FOR ME AND THATS HARD SOMETIMES....BUT NO MATTER WHAT I DO

I as a lapbander do not except you giving up. I and the rest of us want all to succeed, you have a tool in there, start using it and get some assistance from your doctor or another close to you. from someone who has been fat most of my life, I know what it is like to just give up.ten years ago we had nothing like this now we can do something. GET UP,WIPE YOURSELF OFF, AND GET BACK IN THE GAME...

So, while you are busy not giving up, you can utilize the concepts you have already learned about nutrition. Your focus while you are muddling through processes and paperwork should be on getting healthier, whatever weight that may be. You have already learned to:

eat more Protein and plenty of it

eat non-starchy veggies and a little bit of fresh fruit

Pretend that starchy sugary carbs cost you $10 cash apiece up front

drink Water until your eyeballs float

and get up and move around (and shake that thang) a few times a day

I wish you good luck and good health.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
