I've only walked for exercise. I started out by parking as far from the front door of my office to force me to walk a little extra. 18 months later, I regularly walk between 4 and 5 miles a day and have even started speed walking and a little jogging. But I've never done weight training.

Yes! 5 to 6 days a week. I walk 3 or 4 days a week and work out with a trainer two days a week. I few weeks ago, I pulled a muscle and had to take 10 days off and I felt sluggish and tired by the end of it.

I used to roll my eyes at those people that always said that exercising gave them energy, and now I am one of them!

Almost an hour of cardio (I like to mix it up between treadmill, bike and elliptical) four days a week and at least 45 minutes of weights four days a week.

i got approved to workout one month post op. but between trying to find the right gym, learning about additional supplements ( gotta love those BCAAs...especially for muscle recovery) i finally joined one.

i'm currently 2 months post op and i switch it up between cardio and light weights. im down 40lbs as of today. i don't mind losing slow and steady because no matter what im still losing

Starting at 4 months post op (wish I had started sooner!!!) I began running. I'm currently training for a 1/2 marathon and my training plan has me running 3 days/week, cross training 2 days/week (cycling, elliptical, strength training), and 2 rest days.

The biggest thing is to find something you LOVE. That is what will carry you through the days you are just not feeling it. For me it was running. For you it may be group classes or cross fit, or cycling....it doesn't matter. Just find what you love. :-)

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
