3 weeks post op and doing great with absolutely no problems so far. Started Vitamins and Calcium this week but still undecided what Vitamin to go with long term. I'm currently taking 2 Celebrate chewable Multi Vitamins a day and 3 Celebrate Calcium capsules (crushed) a day. I will definitely not get Calcium capsules again and will probably go with a Calcet and/or caltrate in the future. I am considering opurity Vitamins available at unjury.com for future use since they are a one a day chewable. Opurity does provide slightly less in some vitamins but don't really think it's enough to make a difference. Any comments?

I've taken Trader Joe's High Potency chewable multi's and Wellesse liquid Calcium since surgery. My labs have always been great and I don't miss paying tons of extra money for special "bariatric" Vitamins. One thing, if you are looking at Calcet or Caltrate make sure you are getting calcium citrate, not calcium carbonate. That is something that sleevers need to be very aware of! Calcium carbonate doesn't work well for us.

Thank you for this information. I'm 2 weeks out and just saw my surgeon yesterday. They said they don't want me to start Vitamins (except B12 - I got a shot) until my next visit in 2 weeks. Still, I looked at some of the "bariatric" vitamins and they do seem pricey.

Do you take a sublingual B12? If so, may I ask which one?

@@une nouvelle vie I take Trader Joe's sublingual B12 2x/week. I used to take it every day but my labs showed my B12 was super-high so I cut it back. High B12 levels aren't dangerous, but I figured, why waste money taking more than I need? (yes I am very cheap!).

I take the opurity Vitamins in Orange berry Flavor. I like them because there is one tablet a day and the ingredients are China Free. Quality of ingredients is an issue with some products and I like that they guarantee quality. They are pricier than some others but I am a big fan of Unjury products and am very pleased with the outcome.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
