When you use that BMI of Slc

Recommended Posts

I I have been approved for my surgery for over 3 to 4 weeks now and I have been waiting on the Doctors office to call me with a date for the hospital. I feel very frustrated with the BMI center I leave messages and emails and seem to be ignored. Any one else have this problem with Dr Cottom and Dr Richards office

Can you change doctors? The bells and whistles go off for me when doctor's offices cannot or do not respond promptly - it speaks of inadequate staff and possibly a mill-like attitude to their patients.

Yes, that seems excessive to just be given a surgery date. Typically, the surgeons office tries to get you on the schedule right away even if it s a few months out. At least you would have some idea. That sucks!

My bariatric team was spot on to reply quickly to my questions and emails.....same day. I agree with SherB, An effective team will not leave you dangling in mental anquish and worry. Be proactive.

I turned in my paperwork for BMI of Utah and they consulted with my insurance and called me to set up an apt the very next day. the Apt is 4 weeks away because they are really busy during the summer. I have had friends go through them and not have an issue with scheduling their surgery date. Sorry that you are waiting.

I wish it was that easy I am left messages with the scheduling coordinator several times and the Dr rescheduled my date once already and now I feel like I am just chasing someone to just talk to me.. I was told to start the two week post op diet just in case they get me a date for the LDS hospital but I have a feeling I Am going to have to do it all again because of no date set.

I am sorry that you are having all these problems. I hope that you hear back soon. I am still early in the process and I am sure things can change. Best wishes to you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
