Hey everyone...i'm about to be banded soon (may 4th) and since summer is starting and i am starting to sweat....lots. I was wondering if any of you have had NSV's in this department. Sweating less?

I've only lost around fifty pounds and I sweat much less.

Probably a combination of being less self-conscious and wearing less clothing. Welcome to the band, Robgoblin :girl_hug:

Oh, absolutely I sweat less. In fact, you'll hear lots of people complaining about being cold once they start to lose weight.

That would be me!

I realized yesterday that I had a thermal blanket over me and it was 85 outside. We did have the AC but still. Up until two weeks ago I use to sweat all the time.

My dh used to tell people that I was a raging inferno, Never cold, Always hot, and NEVER dry. That has changed drastically after 40 lbs. I get cold very easily now. :girl_hug:

I was not much of a sweater before, so I can't say "yes" -- but I can say that I am definitely colder. I expected I would be, hell - I've lost a LOT of insulation!

Pretty conclusive poll so far...glad to hear that...there's another thing that will be great.

Rob, it's pretty humid here in TX most of the time... and prior to surgery I couldn't walk out of the house without it feeling like 100 degrees. But now, I can withstand it better and don't get the damp/perspiration feeling.

So, it looks like it will be a side effect for the plus column in your case.

Another weird thing I noticed after I lost the first 40 lbs was it must've all been off my butt... not too much cushion back there any longer! No matter how I sit my tailbone gets sore.

I definitely don't sweat as much, but I'm not getting cold that much either. Guess I'm at a happy medium. Princess doesn't like to sweat! ;)))

I've never been a sweater anyway, unless I'm exercising. So I cant say I've noticed a difference. But I do feel the cold a lot more.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
