Hello all! I'm a bit late checking in! My VSG is just 2 days away on 8/26!!! I'm like everyone else... nervous and really looking forward to it too.

I have been doing OK on my pre-op Meal Replacement diet. I've had a little bit of head hunger, but it's not so bad. Pretty much I just have to go have another shake, or some broth, and I get through it. I've lost roughly 7 lbs on the pre-op diet, but frankly, I thought I would have lost more. I'm not knocking it, I'm just a tad bit concerned I didn't do something right. I'm wondering if I'll find out later that I was supposed to be eating more, or something crazy like that. :)

Anyway, I'm here.. I'll soon be on the other side of the VSG and I am excited.

Hey guys, just an update... I had my sleeve done on august 20th. Yesterday was pretty rough since I can't tolerate the liquid pain meds. So they sent me home with just Tylenol. Hopefully the soreness will start to get better in the next couple of days! I feel pretty good considering, just have to remember to keep sipping.

The liquid Loratab I thinks that's the name was horrible, every time I would swallow it I felt like Gatling and vomiting, I did throw up once but the prescription hydro condone is working.

In regards to the Gas strips...y'all really should take some in with you to the hospital. I took them regular from the moment I was in my room and I didn't have any of this horrible gas pain that some folks have.

It's safe...active ingredient is simethicone, and that just breaks up the tension in the gas to let our bodies deal with it easier. I had to research it, because I was afraid it was similar to Imodium, where that just decreases the motility...I was afraid that if I took the Gas X, I would just be delaying the inevitable.

I wonder why they don't give them to us in the hospital? I felt a little guilty sneaking them in.

I am glad to know the hydrocodone is working. That is what my doctor prescribed for me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
