Just found out that even though my husband supports me getting my sleeve he doesn't agree with it. Makes me wonder if he really will support me. Argh! Good thing I have friends and my step-daughters full support.

I know how you feel. A lot of my family doesn't even know about my surgery. The members that do know act like they don't believe I'll really go through with it :( hopefully in time both my "support" system and yours will come around!

Hi Pelican, I'm three months out, started at 295 and now 225. I walk 2-4 miles each day and feel fantastic! You don't need support, just be yourself and do what your doctor says. They day home from surgery is the only day you need help, after that your problem will be changing wardrobes every two weeks! Some people think I cheated by doing this, but WTF who cares right??

My husband felt the same way. He said he would support me but didn't feel that I needed the surgery. As it turns out he has been my biggest supporter. Give him time and continue to talk about it with him. He doesn't have to agree to love and help you through it.

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words. I know he loves me and will be there for me. I am happy that I have all the support from this forum.

Goddardgo - I am in Green Valley, about 30 minutes south of Tucson. I think that puts you at least 3 hours north of us. Little far to travel, but can support each other via computer. Ohh, you are getting close, 3 weeks from tomorrow. Good luck and keep me posted.

Lisa

I hope you all find the support you need and deserve. I have an absolutely supportive husband and family! I don't know if I could do the sleeve and be successful without them

Thanks Friejenn, He is doing much better with it. We went out for Breakfast this morning and I ordered 1 scrambled egg. Well, when our order came my 1 scrambled egg turned in to a 2 egg omelet. Before I could say anything my hubby was telling the waitress that wasn't what I ordered. I couldn't handle 2 egg, let alone an omelet. Please take it back and get her 1 scrambled egg. She just had stomach surgery and has to be very careful of what she puts in it. It was so nice to see him sticking up for me.

I think I'm in the same boat. I get the verbal "I support you", but then later he'll say things that don't really add up. Like "you just need to be more active". Or "it's just caolries in vs. calories out". Then, "but I support you".

It's quite frustrating. I know he doesn't "get it". He hasn't had to go through what I have since childhood, and I'm glad he hasn't. It's a form of life long suffering I would only wish on my worst enemy ;)

I'm so happy to see your hubby be such a good advocate for you now, that's teriffic! I'm sure mine will eventually see that this is what I really needed to get my health in order too.

In the same boat.

My husband and I are both young and over weight (always have been). Though he says he supports me in what I want to do he also has concerns about how we will interact with each other now that food is not involved, He agrees that he also needs to lose weight and wants to but I'm unsure if me getting surgery will help steer him in the right direction or watching my success might destroy us I'm not sure just yet. What I do know is that this is something I need to do for myself.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
