Just about everyone gets pre surgery jitters. Try not to worry. Its not that bad for most people. a majority of sleeve patients don't really have much pain, especially if they get up and walk, walk walk. Walking as much as possible alleviates gas and bloating from the surgery which is the main cause for most post-op pain. Even on the plane, get up and walk the aisle at least once and hour or more. If you let people coddle you and bring you everything, you will pay for it with pain. Get up and get anything you need yourself. Also bring a pillow with you to hold against your belly while traveling. It will help during any turbulence or bumps.

As far as the hair loss, I cant really give any advice as I have not let my hair grow out in years so I really dont know if I had any loss. But for the most part, keep your Protein and supplements up and it shouldn't be to much of a problem.

Good luck........... And the majority of us go through the same emotions.... Stress, nervous, happy, sad, excited, scared...... That just means ur normal..... If I had to describe the pain... I would say it felt like period craps...... Wasn't bad...... But yes you are going to have a roller coaster of emotions.... It's ok.. We are all here for you.... I'm 32yrs/F 7 months out and wouldn't change it.... If you like you can ask me anything... I would love to hear ur journey.... You can pm if u like.....

Don't worry, I'm 24 years old and today is day 15 post surgery, I'm thankful and I lost almost 15lbs (thank you god)

The pain is very tolerable just keep some gasx strips with you because the gas pain can be bad the first few days but start moving asap and it will go away by day 3.

Good luck!

I have suffered hair loss 2 months. I have been wearing a wig and a visor. I would not use extensions because it would attach to my hair and probably pull it out. I have used Biotin and excellent products, and excellent Vitamins. My hair is very blonde so the Toppik powder has not worked for me as the Hair loss is around my face also. Maybe it is the luck of the genes but you might as well beware of what can happen. I am considering some scarf tricks now. I just cut three inches off my shoulder length hair . I wish you good luck!

Kammylee- congrats on your decision! I had my surgery June 9th. I agree with the other posters- walk ,walk, walk. When u can sip , sip, sip. The first. 4-5 days will be the worst. It will be hard to get liquids in, just keep working at it. I slept in a recliner for the first few nights. When you get up, hold a small pillow against your belly, it will help with the pain. I worry about Hair loss too, follow your doctors plan. Take some lip balm with you. Good luck!

Take a small pillow to splint your stomach. Get a Biotin supplement added to your Vitamin regime. Some say it helps. I'm 9 months out and haven't noticed much hair loss. Don't know whether its the Biotin or the 75+g of Protein per day or if I'm just one of the lucky ones. I can say my nails are in GREAT shape for the first time ever so I think its at least helped them!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
