The breathing test is just to test your lung capacity before surgery. That way when you do your breathing exercises post-op they have a baseline for you. You just take in the deepest breath you can take with a device called a triflo.

I posted something like this on another thread, but I'm really confused and looking for some help. My sleeve was done this past Monday, June 30th. I'm on Clear Liquids with Protein (Isopure drinks, Jello made with Isopure, broth with added protein powder) plus any zero cal beverages until Monday, which will be one full week. Then I transition to full liquids (soy milk, Protein Shakes, etc.). I'm not having any trouble getting the appropriate liquids down at all, and I'm stArting to worry about that. Like maybe this should be harder? Please, someone tell me I'm crazy!

Walk ASAP post op. Very very important. Don't be too anxious. I am 7 days post op. No complications. I have been controlling the pain... actually just some soreness.. With OTC Tylenol for the last two days. No need for the Percocet. I was NPO for first 24 hrs post op. Day 2 I was allowed to sip 30cc (1 ounce) of H2O hourly. Day 3 went home on clear liquids only. Day 4 started full liquids. It is very important to find a Hi Protein Drink you like. You should try to get 70gr Protein in daily but remember you will only be able to handle 4-6 ounces at a time. So pick a drink with really high protein. Ensure Active Hi Protein has 25gr per 14 ounces. Premiere has 30gr per 11 ounces. You will want to get 64 oz of fluids in also per day. So you will be sipping all the day long. Good luck.

I am scheduled for 7/14 too. I am starting to get nervous. I am spending way too much time reading success stories.

Me too! I've talked to a couple people who have been through it and that really helped.

Best of luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
