I'm having Gastric Sleeve July 9th and leaving for a 9 day vacation in California August 1st, we are flying there..

We will be busy the entire time.. A lot of walking..

Does anyone have advice for me.. I would appreciate it..

I really don't want to change the surgery date. I been waiting for this for a long time..

Thanks in advance!

I had surgery June 2 and by mid week last week, my energy was basically back to normal. You may need to pass on some activities if you are still experiencing the after-surgery fatigue. Go no where without a well-chilled Protein Shake in a cooler and lots of Water. You don't ever know what will be available and that should keep you comfortable. Have fun!

Thanks so much.. That makes me feel so much better.. I was worried when the surgery date ended up being so close to the vacation I already had bought and paid for.. My Sons in the Navy and got married and we are meeting the families for the first time from Germany, so it will be non stop activity!

I was sleeved June 9. I've had no pain and other than a couple of days my energy level has actually increased! To me, the timing of your trip looks very do-able. I agree that having Water is the most important thing to remember. I still drink broth too, with unflavored Protein Powder mixed in. Still my go to meal. Hope you have a wonderful vacation!!

i would think you will be great by then, just remember to keep a Protein Drink with you at all times AND Water. try also to eat at places that have Soups, softs, etc so you can enjoy the meal with the group. have a great time!

I did a Disneyland trip about the same distance out from surgery and did fine. Brought lots of Protein powder... Could always find Water to mix it with. Got a hotel room with small fridge and kept lots of Greek yogert, string cheese sticks, etc in it. You will be fine!

Get yourself a box if Chike ice coffee and some Protein Shake packs!! They are yummy and taste great mixed with just water!! That's a month out and I was on soft foods then! Soft veggies... Pasta... Eggs... I was lucky I had no issues after the first week whatsoever... I even started at the gym after the first week!! Bring your vitamins!! You will have an awesome time! That's just about when I started feeling normal!! Haha ENJOY!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
