My surgery is in August and I can't hardly wait. Reading all the good news here about how successful people are. It's very encouraging and hopeful. Soon I will be among the people able to relate my journey after WLS. Cheers!

Congratulations! I love, love, love my band. The weight loss part is great but also I just feel like I finally have that appetite monster off of my back.

Hi Gbb77901,

I am also scheduled for lap band in Aug w/Dr Esquivel. I have read the book that True Results gave me. And I have read Dr. Brecher's book. Very excited about getting banded next month. The forums on this site have really been helpful. Would love to find a lap band support group in my area. If you, or anyone reading this post hears of any bander support groups between North Austin to Georgetown, let me know. Are you scheduled for surgery in Austin or San Antonio? Mine is scheduled for 8/8 in S.A. Have you been given a pre-op diet yet? I am to start soon on Atkins and no more than 20 carbs per day. Atkins shakes seem to be best. Have lowest carbs/sugar than any other Protein diet drink that I found. Keep us posted on how you do. We are both on the same part of the journey. Here's wishing us both much success with our Aug. surgeries and future permanent weight loss.

Have a blessed weekend!

makingchanges4me... thanks for the note. We are on the same path definitely. I am scheduled for surgery on August 4 & 5 in San Antonio. I heard of a support group that meets monthly in north Austin in Walnut Creek area. I'm in Round Rock, what about you? Stay in touch!

Just a little tired , not hungry and oh yes if you get sick of hickey broth add some nice glaciers mrs dashes no salt herbs and let it soak in and bam you have amazing Soup to eat that's not dull.

I also went thru True Results and also have the same Dr.

Let me know if you find a support group. Georgetown is on my way home to Salado.

I live in Round Rock. The only support group that I know about meets on the 4th Thurs of each month (7/24) at True Results on Technology Dr in Austin off 183. The meetings are at 6:30 p.m. I think they last maybe 90 min or so. Am going to try to be at next meeting. Having lap band surgery on 8/8 in S.A. w/Dr Esquival. Was told that you can bring someone with you. My hubby is going to try to come. This will give him more of an idea of what I'll be going thru. Hope to meet some of you banders at meeting. Have a good week.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
