Just had my very first moment where I could feel my sleeve actually working :-)

I am a week post op and have been on mostly Clear Liquids. I started incorporating Protein Shakes two days ago, but today I picked up some broccoli cheddar Soup from Panera.

I ate a little over 1/4 of a cup and feel full! It feels the same as how I would feel preop after eating a really large meal.

I know for those of you that have been on this journey for a while have already experienced this, but I'm really excited! It was hard for me to imagine and the whole surgery didn't necessarily feel real until now.

It feels so good! I never knew how much I craved that feeling. I just almost never felt it before the sleeve. I know I'm still newly post op and will be able to eat more later on , but I feel like I have more control now. food does not run my life anymore.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS POST!!! I'm having surgery in a few weeks and it's great reading posts like yours :) Congrats on the loss and feeling of fullness. This also just made me realize how much money I will save when eating out! One Panera Soup will last me 4 meals!

I am 7 weeks post op today and like the other ladies I get so full on so little. I love that I can just share with my husband if we go somewhere. Before i would have to eat a lot to feel really full and then not only did i feel really full, but it was heavy on my stomach as well. I really love being able to feel full on little BUT without the heavy feeling. I would feel really full after half a pudding too at first, now I can at least get a whole pudding down, even a yogurt for Breakfast, even though it takes me a half hour, lol. But i love that just a yogurt will fill me up. It's been very much worth it! I had no complications, everything healed nicely and i am so glad i did it! I have lost 20 lbs so far. Good luck with your surgeries, hope all goes well :D

Yes, I have indeed saved a ton of grocery money. I don't have a family to feed so over these last 4 weeks, it's easily over $200. Nice perk! :P

We were just talking about this at home last night... now we will not feel as ripped off by buying quality, organic ingredients as we will still be ahead of the game on the cost side. The benefit is the best food/fuel in our bodies!

I was just talking to my husband about this as well. Our grocery bill will be drastically reduced now and as the pater stated we can now buy better quality ingredients and still spend less per month!

I'm just over two weeks post op and we went to dinner Fri night and my husband had no problems ordering a rib eye since in such a cheap date now and just had 3 of the grilled shrimp he ordered on the side. Since I get full so easy, and an really not that hungry, he can eat what he wants and I don't mind being the cheap one! It's great not to want to eat loads of food.< /p>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
