Non scale bucket list!

Recommended Posts

As I am finishing up with things in preparation of revising from the Lap-Band to gastric bypass I was doing my psych eval. I was asked what would I want to do once I was at a healthy weight. I said the usual things of playing with my children without being overly tired, riding a roller coaster comfortably, ect. I began to really start thinking about what I really wanted to do that I never had the confidence to do due to my weight. So I wanted to ask what is some of your non scale bucket list type of things that you always wanted to do but was too weak, heavy,or embarassed of your size to do?

I guess since I asked I will go first.

1) I want to do a couch to 5K run, or a color run with my daughter.

2) I have always admired dancers and have always wanted to take classes like contemporary, hip hop, ballroom dance, I want to be able to take my non dancing abilities and hone them into something amazing for me.

That's all I've got for right now but would love to hear some of yours!

I too would love to take a dancing class and get lessons on a standup paddle board and maybe kayaking.

Fun to dream and how great to actually make it happen......can't wait.

It is sad but I have been heavy all my life and I think I am cautious and non-adventurous. Is it who I am or because of my weight? I don't honestly know. I have never wanted to zip line. I hate roller coasters. As I am losing weight I do see myself sort of coming out of a shell but I don't know where this is leading. I guess it is all good. On my bucket list I am listing experiencing a catamaran trip. I want to sit on that and watch the Water go by and be comfortable about who I am and what I am wearing, and not be scared. Big time sharing for me.

I would love to be able to go zip-lining on vacation. I have not been able to because of my weight.

You have to go do zip-lining. I did it in Florida on a business trip. I started out on the easy course and quickly paid for the advanced one. It was so freeing!!!

My bucket list keeps evolving!

1. Play soccer without pain - achieved

2. Get off of prednisone - down to 2.5mg daily from 20mg

3. Make it through the police entrance physical fitness test - achieved

4. Walk up the stadium steps without needing to stop half way - achieved

My newest goal is to complete a triathlon which is scheduled for October!!

I did ropes courses and zip lining when I was a teenager and thin. Maybe I just don't remember things accurately but I don't remember it being that big of a thrill for me. I was just a jaded teen maybe!?

I want to take a flying trapeze lesson or two. They have a few schools here and you are supposed to be able to do a trick where you are hanging from your knees and someone on another trapeze catches you. I want to do that!

Zip lining sounds fun! I am planning my honeymoon after 3 years finally and wouldn't mind that being on our itinerary.

I just wanna walk across the beach feeling comfortable in my skin and my bathing suit.

And I want to be able to run again, like if I have to catch the bus and I do not have to pretend like it's not a big deal I'll just wait for the next one...

I wanna be able to sit in low seats and not to struggle to stand up - oh how I hate those low sofas without arm support, you are just stuck once you sit down you are down unless somebody pulls you up! Or how great it would be just sit on the curbside???

My number 1 goal is to go to an amusement park and fit in all the rides!

1. I want to be able to go to a public pool and not feel like a beached whale.

2. I want to be able tell my husband or who ever asks for that matter that I'd be happy to go out and about with them without being ashamed.

3. Walk without getting short of breath.

Ditto on the amusement park rides, in fact already talked about planning a trip to Universal/Islands of Adventure for next year!

Buy any pair of jeans from any store in the mall and actually put them on.

Buy a too cute bra and panties set from Victoria Secret.

Run to the corner AND back with my son.

I am hoping to do a zip line tour this year. I was always too heavy to try. I'm also afraid of heights but, after taking my very first ever trip alone (from RI to Southern Cali), I am ready to conquer my next fear. :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
