Anybody else feel hungry often or am I the only weirdo

Recommended Posts

I have the restriction. I can eat 2oz or 3 of chicken and feel full. But a couple of hours later I'm hungry again. I thought it would get better after I started eating more Protein. I'm still not eating over 700 calories a day.

Me too but I expected to have to eat every few hours. My advice would be to eat something (nutritious) if you are hungry. I plan for 3 meals and 2-3 Snacks a day (as recommended by my dietician), so I usually don't go more than 3 hours without eating.

Hope this doesn't tick anyone off--please know its just how i feel and what I'm discovering. I sometimes feel hungry an hour or so after a meal too, but that seems like a normal part of life. Who ever expects they won't get hungry after a bit? Generally if I ate my 2-3 ounces Protein and a bit of fruit or veggie -- and get hungry an hour later...I wait another 90 minutes or so knowing its part of losing weight, and enjoy knowing its time to eat my next meal by then. Hunger isn't bad, in fact before my sleeve I seldom even GOT hungry I ate so much. Now it's a welcome sign I'm not always full.

I'm hungry all the time. Well, not right after eating, but I eat about every three hours. After I eat I wait an hour, and start drinking. I give myself a goal of "drink X amount of Water before you eat again". Sure helps me to keep my fluids up! If I get busy and can't eat for 4-5 hours I'm STARVING. Just make good choices and you'll be fine. I know we aren't supposed to snack and graze all day, but that's pretty much what I do. I reached goal in under 6 months (and still losing) doing it this way so I'm not too concerned with breaking other people's "rules".

My friend and I both have sleeve and even though our meals are small we get hungry two three hours later so even though snacking not encourage we just split up pour meals and eat them in two sittings or just eat small meals. The hunger is much different than before surgery and much more bearable and not so all encompassing but still around

Soup and baked potatoes will do that ( soup is a slider) and potatoes are a carb ( makes you feel hungry). Even before surgery, eating soup always made me hungry an hour to two later.

I am 7 weeks out and I get 300 to maximum of 600 calories a day, usually I am at 400 a day with 35-50 grams of Protein. My NUT said not to eat Snacks but I eat something with protein around 3pm and 7 or 8 pm.... Just an ounce or two tho.

I don't feel hungry very often, and when I do it's different than pre-sleeve in that it's not as intense - it's bearable. I attribute that to the fact that I eat every 4 hours - 8a, 12n, 4p and 8p on work days, sometimes a bit later on weekends. Oh, and if I'm awake at midnight I eat again. I usually eat about 200 calories at a time.

If I'm not hungry at the designated time I might delay the meal for an hour or so, and I might eat less than 200 calories, but I don't skip meals entirely. I'm told that eating actually revs up one's metabolism.

Anyway, it's working for me...

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
