Anyone else not want family sticking around after surgery?

Recommended Posts

The aforementioned boyfriend won't be a problem now, but my mom is now asking, "Is your dad staying? Is grandma staying?" I think she's fishing for the invite?? :P

I haven't had my surgery yet but I don't think I could keep my family away if I wanted to. We are a close family and I'm the youngest at 52. Each of my sisters have indicated that they will be at the hospital as well as some friends. I'm ok with that as long as they don't expect me to entertain them. :)

This-family was there but I laid in the hospital bed in pain and cranky- after they saw how cranky I was they stopped trying to talk to me and sat there for hours talking to each other-it seemed to give them comfort just being in the room , we have to remember loved ones are worried about the outcome as well and being there reassures them

Uh oh! Sorry to hear that! And that's funny, you can detect when they're trying to get included lol. I've not told a lot of ppl about mine but if those that do know want to come, I'm fine with that. I may tell more ppl as I get closer to surgery time, but now I'm being picky and cautious.

I get that. I've decided that I don't mind if my mom or dad stay, just not together because that would be awkward since they annoy each other lol.

I know they all mean well. I've just always been incredibly independent and have a hard time with others worrying. Maybe if they are there they will worry less? Who knows. I'll have to see how I feel closer to surgery. :) Considering the waves of emotion I've gone through (excitement, fear, confusion, more excitement), I'm sure I'll change my mind ten more times between now and then lol.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
