How long after your sleeve did you see a big change?

Recommended Posts

At 30 lb my two closest friends noticed, at 50-60 lbs everyone noticed. I still don't see it a lot. I've lost all my weight from the waist up so in full body mirror or photos I still seem to look the same. Face shot and I could see it at about 50 lbs.

I am a month and week out, and I can see a change now--not huge, but clear. Also I forced myself to take a front and side picture with the camera on a timer the day I started my preop diet (two weeks before surgery) and then I took a picture the same way from the same vantage point one month after surgery wearing same pants and similar shirt. When you start at close to 290 lbs, a 30 lb weight loss seems almost unnoticeable--but those pictures absolutely show a visible difference. I really urge you to consider doing that--it helped a lot for me as those 30 pounds did not seem visible to anyone else, and I was getting a little blue about it not even showing. The other thing everyone kept saying to do was to take measurements, which I have but they don't inspire me quite as much for some reason. Hang in there, all of a sudden you and others will see it and it will delight you!

It was and still is hard for me to see the weight lose... I'm down 94lbs... 6lbs from goal........... Family seen it at 50lbs... But friends that I don't see daily did at 30lbs... But the way that helps me is putting my picture next to the old me... Then I can see it

I'm down 50, and I can see the difference in my face and I can feel the difference in my shirts. My pants feel the same (which makes me wonder how freaking tight they must have been when I was at full weight) I was around 45 lbs down when other people mentioned it to me.

My husband noticed at 20lbs or about 2 weeks post-op. I could see it in my face by about 3 weeks out. Others noticed almost immediately after returning to work 1 week post-op and have continued to make comments about my "melting away" at about 42lbs since 5/5 sleeve day.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
