I am still maintaining - I am 66 years old, and currently weigh 150 pounds, down from 424 lbs when I begin in October 2013.

It is a DAILY battle and I do not regret beginning this journey - some days I still regret having had my sleeve but over all life at 150 pounds has no resemblance to how I lived (or rather didn't really live) when I was 424 pounds.

I am hoping that I will be a long term success but I have to be hyper-vigilant otherwise, it is too easy to go back to the pattern of overeating and eating the wrong foods that got me to that super obese weight in the first place.

I'm 61. I'm 1 year post-op. I lost 10 lbs the few weeks pre-op as my Dr. put me on liquids. I lost another 30 post-op and that was it. I continue to struggle...up 2 lbs...down 2-3 lbs. I can't drop below 175 and my goal weight is 110 (I'm only 5 feet tall). I have 60-80 grams of Protein daily and almost always at 64 oz Water daily. Terribly disheartened and disappointed. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but getting more and more depressed as the months go by and the weight doesn't go down. I feel I'm still dealing with the same struggle as before surgery but now I can't even eat enough to enjoy the food. Terribly disheartened.

I am 61 and will be 62 in March. I am in the process of tests and nutrition visits now. They are giving me an estimated date of early April if I'm approved and all goes well. I have been worried about my age since everyone seems so young on the boards. This post has made me feel a lot better. All these tests are trying.

With the sleeve I have lost 103 pounds and I was 60 when I had the surgery. Overall in my 50's and 60's I have lost a total of 285 pounds and I can only walk 4 to 5 minutes due to 4 herniated disc and lots of other physical complications due to an accident I had in my 30's and obesity. If I can do it at this age and in this physical condition, You All Can Do It!

I'm 61 and I'm 8mo out. I have lost over 60 # so far since my Sleeve last July. I guess it's true that we are never satisfied! I am presently trying to regroup, increase exercise, decrease carbs and increase Protein and Water. It's not an easy journey but very worthwhile!

How is your calorie and fat intake? Drinking anything with sugar or frying foods?
This all came easy bcos these were some of my traps. I was also getting so I was "grazing" that's another big no no.
If I can help u in any way I'll be glad to. I'd love to have a conscience Buddy!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
