No I am only at the end of day 3 and a little hungry:think. I am very excited and also very scared. I think i am scared most about the pain after surgery. I just don't know what to exspect. I had my Gallbladder removed hope its no worse than that. Would someone please let me know there experince. Thanks a bunch!!!

Stacy:omg:

PS Would someone also tell me how to do those little ruler things that show your progress.

Stacy,

You are in the hardest part of this . I think the liquid part separate the "boys from the men".

For me I had very little pain after surgery. It felt like I had done too many sit ups. I have never done too many but I imagined it would have felt like that. So everytime I bent over for something for two days after surgery I would say to myself oh I am little sore. I took it easy for one week then started walking 1/2 mile a day slowly.

Do a search for ticker and you will get instructions.

I hope your experience is easy like mine was,

edie

hi Stacy,

welcome to LBT! like Edie said, this for me was the most difficult part of the process. i hated the pre-op diet!

the only problem i had was i was SOOO tired after the surgery. i had it on a monday and didnt even feel like getting out of bed until Wednesday.

you may have a problem with gas pains (i was lucky and didnt). i've heard the key is to walk walk walk ...

Stacy - hi there, I start my pre-op on 5/3 with surgery on 5/17. I had a little taste of the clear liquid only for two days before my scoping. I was just on one of the other threads that was giving lot's of great advise and ideas on what to drink when it's liquid only. This site has loads of info if you spend some time looking. Good luck and stay strong!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
