2 months post op. So tired / exhausted!

Recommended Posts

I am getting in my fluids, Protein & taking Vitamins I am also eating fruits and veggies. I average around 800 calories a day. I am getting 8 hours of sleep a night but I find myself dozing off all the time. In church, at my desk at work, sitting down on the couch after work. It's horrible! I can't stand how tired I am. I could seriously fall asleep anywhere lately. Anyone else suffering from this? I am not losing hair and I feel great otherwise. just so tired.

Everyone recovers differently. I was super tired and didn't feel fully recovered for about 4 months. I saw so many people post that they felt great so much sooner, but I just kept plugging along. Like you, I ate well, got in my Water, Vitamins, exercise, and sleep.

Give yourself this time to recover. It does pass.

Yes it should pass...have you spoken to your doctor about your concern? Just to be on the safe side?

What we forget, is that our internal structure has been re-worked...and you may just show a few small incisions on the outside, but the insides will take quite a while to fully heal... so take it easy...but if you are concerned (and it sounds like you are)...contact your doctor so they can run some lab work on you

Good luck

Avryv,

I was SO VERY TIRED at about the 2 month mark. Immediately after the surgery I had more energy and then BOOM it hit me lick a Mack truck at full speed. I finally came out of it at about 4 months.

I also didn't read my bariatric Vitamins closely and was only taking 2 pills a day instead of 6! Sometimes I think I'm a blond and Polish and sometimes I know! :D

I started taking the 6 per day and I felt A LOT better.

Hang in there! Like the other posters said your body needs time to heal and it's always wise to discuss it with your doc.

Welcome to the trip down the "loser's" highway!

Blessings,

Katheen

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
