I went 4 months without a fiill then I finally got one a few weeks ago. It didnt even feel like I had a fill really. I dont feel more restricted, I can even eat bread if i wanted. I dont think my band has slipped or anything like that because I have no heartburn or anything odd. But I wonder if my fill wasnt enough, is that possible? I think it was a 0.3 fill if that sounds about correct. I am not losing any weight either. My doctor is a pain about getting fills, its like pulling teeth to get one. You practically have to beg on ur knees because they dont like to over fill people. I have read about people who have had to sip Water slowly and eat carefully I have never experienced that I can gulp down all kinds of water with no problem and never feel any kind of issues and thats SINCE I have had my band. So I dont think there is a stretching issue because how come I could drink so much when i first got my band. So.. I guess I am wondering if I should give it more time or drive 300 miles to maybe even not get a fill because the doctor says no way. Is 0.3 even a big fill? wonder what the deal is. Maybe I am eating something bad I dunno. Generally I eat Nothing for Breakfast if I do I have one hard boiled egg, an apple for a snack. salad for lunch of some sort or yogurt. and whatever we are eating for dinner i eat for dinner. Doesnt sound like alot to me cant imagine why I am not losing. OK could go on forever better go.

I was reading through other peoples fills and sheesh mine was small for going such a long time (I think) they are so greedy with the fills LOL

Is there not another doctor closer to you, or even the same distance? Doctors that are 'stingy' on fills don't sit right with me. I agree that it's good to be careful not to overfill, but geez..

There is no way to tell if 0.3 is good or not. If you are close to your sweet spot then 0.3 might even be too much. A lot also depends on when your fill was. If it was more than 2 weeks ago you are right, it's not enough. If it hasn't been two weeks your fill may not have kicked in yet.

If your doc is that conservative with fills I'd be finding a new doc.

I'm going to play the devil's advocate on this one...I'm not sure I blame him for such a conservative fill, mostly because he doesn't know how the patient will react to a small fill, mind you an aggressive one.

I think I'm on the doc's side for this one...

I agree in being conservative, but unless someone already has *some* restriction, .3 usually (there are exceptions) wont do much, and if you have to pay every time with fills, and in the OP's case, drive a long distance, it starts to feel like waste.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
