I am about 2 and half weeks post op. For the last 2 days I have been have this pain in my left side. It will hurt sometimes if I sit down or stand up or even at times if I talk. I have not had pain in my side at all until now. Is this normal? It is almost like I have pull ed d something.

Does it feel like it's in your ribs? sounds like gas used in surgery to inflate your abdomen working itself out. Fairly uncommon this far out, but not unheard of.

or it could be a leak. or a pulled muscle. thats why she should call her doctor.

Just talked to the Dr and I was told that if the pain becomes constant and increases is when I need to be concerned about it being a leak and go to the ER at that point.

Not since friday. I mentioned that to my doctor when I talked to her and she did not think it was related. She told me to keep an eye on my temp and watch for the pain becoming constant and increasing.

Your pain doesn't sound like this... But I feel a gurgling and pressure in my right side after eating or drinking. It sticks around for hours unless I take a walk. The pressure is just air trapped by food or liquid moving through my bowel, but it's uncomfortable.

My doc says the same. However I've learned that if I take a stool softener and get things moving, the pain goes away until the next time things get blocked up.

It's worth a try

Is the pain kind of in your lower left side/back? I have pain there also. As if I've pulled some muscles. I am 7 weeks out.

I had a similar pain. It felt like I pulled something. My dr said that is the side where my stomach was removed and I'd feel some soreness for a few weeks especially after I was more physical. It took a few weeks, but went away.

My side area is still hurting. On a scale of 0 pain-10 extreme pain, I'm at a constant 4. Calling my surgeon tomorrow to see what she thinks. Ughhhhh! I pray it's not even sleeve related. I haven't had any physical problems with the sleeve. I'm 7 and a half weeks out. I'll report back what she had to say.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
