HELP ! 13 days post and Im eating tooo much

Recommended Posts

Morning,

I'm 13 days post op I had gastric sleeve surgery on May 12th, as of yesterday I was able to finish 3 cups of Soup not at one sitting but throughout the day. I'm very concerned others I have spoken with have said they have only been able to get in a few tablespoons here or there. Please help me I'm still in the semi liquid stage and I think I may be consuming too many liquids please respond with your experience in the first few weeks of your surgery. Also, I am only down 4 lbs.

I need your help desperately, I don't want to stretch my new stomach.

It doesn't sound like you are eating too much if you are eating 3 cups of Soup all day! Calm down, if you feel that you are doing something wrong, call you surgeon's office. 4 lbs in 13 days sounds awesome, goodness, it is not magic, phoof! the weight is off forever! You are in the healing stage, so don't worry, so much, just follow your surgeon's restrictions. Best wishes, welcome to your new life!

Thank you, I didn't think it would be magic, I just have seen so many people with 10 + lbs gone and had surgery either on the same day or later, so I felt I had been doing so etching wrong. Thank you for the information.

Hard as it may be, try not to compare. We each put weight on for individual reasons and we each take it off at our own individual pace. I'm not an expert on the sleeve at all, since I have the band, but it seems that it would take repeated overeating of bulky food to stretch out the stomach, not liquids that are passing through at a pretty quick pace. I may be wrong on that theory, but if worried, do what @kil724 suggested, and call your surgeon.

Even though you shouldn't compare yourself to others, go ahead and use this one ....I lost 3 pounds in the first 17 days post op. Better yet, stay off the scale for at least a month. Get at least 64 oz Fluid and 60g Protein everyday. That's all you need to worry about this soon out.

You are doing GREAT! You really can't overdo liquids. You can get dehydrated much more easily than the opposite. And please if possible, DO stay off that scale. You KNOW you are losing weight. Just give your healing body a break!8 weeks from now you're going to look back at this post and smile. I promise!

I've lost thirty pounds in three weeks, but gained five the first six days before I started losing...crazy, because half that time I was eating nothing!

Don't compare. You're an individual. Stick to your plan and you'll get there!

What is your food plan per your nutritionist? Whatever that is follow it & do not compare your plan to another's .

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
